TE Wave Measurement and Modeling
In the TE wave method, microwaves are coupled into the beam-pipe and the effect of the electron cloud on these microwaves is measured. An electron cloud (EC) density can then be calculated from this measurement.

High-Resolution Forest Mapping from TanDEM-X Interferometric Data Exploiting Nonlocal Filtering
In this paper, we discuss the potential and limitations of high-resolution single-pass interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data for forest mapping.

Detection of Low RCS Unmanned Air Systems Using K-Band Continuous Wave Doppler Radar
UASs (Unmanned Air Systems) are universally used in many activities, spanning from leisure-commercial to military applications. Accordingly, as the number of UASs operating in the sky increases, so does the need to detect and identify them, in order to ...

A Tutorial on the Sequential Sampling Impulse Radar Concept and Selected Applications
The sequential sampling impulse radar is a radar concept that has been known for a very long time. Ultrawideband (UWB) radar systems have been realized based on this concept long before the popular phrases UWB and UWB radar were created.

Magnetization switching by microwaves initially rotating in opposite direction to precession
A common understanding of magnetization switching in microwave-assisted magnetization reversal is that the rotation direction of the microwaves should be the same with the precession direction of the magnetization.

Magnetization dynamics in the single-molecule magnet Fe8 under pulsed microwave irradiation [PDF]
We present measurements on the single molecule magnet Fe8 in the presence of pulsed microwave radiation at 118 GHz. The spin dynamics is studied via time resolved magnetization experiments using a Hall probe magnetometer.

A classical statistical model for distributions of escape events in swept-bias Josephson junctions
We have developed a model for experiments in which the bias current applied to a Josephson junction is slowly increased from zero until the junction switches from its superconducting zero-voltage state, and the bias value at which this occurs is recorded.

Quasi-Coherent Phase-Based Localization and Tracking of Incoherently Transmitting Radio Beacons
The direct measurement of distance-dependent information between wireless units represents a challenge for wireless locating systems, because it requires the exact time synchronization of separate wireless units.

An omnidirectional retroreflector based on the transmutation of dielectric singularities
In the field of transformation optics, metamaterials mimic the effect of coordinate transformations on electromagnetic waves, creating the illusion that the waves are propagating through a virtual space.
