Abstract The 3D architecture of flow units is a key parameter influencing production and recovery from oil reservoirs. Depositional facies and their 3D stacking patterns are commonly fundamental building blocks of flow units. Hence, the recognition of facies, and their placement in conceptual depositional environments is the basic ...

Abstract Facies and their distribution in space are key building blocks to determine the depositional architecture of hydrocarbon reservoirs. For this reason, the unified high resolution facies and sequence stratigraphy boundaries are needed to constrain facies architecture and their properties distribution for constructing the 3D static

Abstract The Aptian–early Middle Albian margin of the Arabian Platform is exposed in Wadi al Assyi (northeast of Jebel Akhdar in northern Oman), and exhibits remarkable geometries testifying to the sedimentary history during the subaerial exposure of most of the Arabian Platform.

The iguanodons of Bernissart (Belgium) are middle Barremian to earliest Aptian in age
Bulletin de l'Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belqique, Sciences de la Terre, 2006The iguanodons of Bernissart (Belgium) have attracted considerable interest since their discovery in the nineteenth century and still remain a reference material. Until now they were relatively poorly dated. This paper deals with the ichthyofauna and the first use of pollen of angiosperms from the dinosaur-bearing sediments to show that they are middle

Abstract The depositional history of the rudist-dominated facies of the Shu'aiba Formation of the Arabianpeninsula may be best understood by studying a possible analogue such as the Great Pearl Bank Barrier, located on the southern flanks of the Arabian Gulf.

Abstract The attributes of a ‘four-systems-tract’ sequence are at times difficult to identify in outcrop-scale carbonate successions. Poor exposure conditions, variable rates of sediment production, erosion and/or superposition of surfaces that are intrinsic to the nature of carbonate systems frequently conceal or remove its physical features.

Abstract Palaeotemperatures during the late Barremian–early Aptian (Early Cretaceous) on the Russian Platform have been determined on the basis of oxygen isotope analysis of aragonitic bivalve molluscan and ammonoid shells and belemnite rostra with well-preserved microstructure from the Ulyanovsk area.

The aim of this project was to study the paleomagnetic stratigraphy of the Hauterivian-Aptian deposits in the Middle Volga region, namely in the areas of the Saratov, Samara, and Uliyanovsk right-hand Volga areas. Original data were obtained for the first time for the magnetic polarity of the Hauterivian and Barremian rocks of the Russian Platform. The
