Nice to know [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The byproduct of today’s massive interconnectivity is that basically nothing and no-one is immune to cyber attacks any longer. Sadly, this can be demonstrated rather trivially.

Multi‐Scale Interface Engineering of MXenes for Multifunctional Sensory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenes, as two‐dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides, demonstrate remarkable capabilities for multifunctional sensing applications. This review systematically examines multi‐scale interface engineering approaches that enhance sensing performance, enable diverse detection functionalities, and improve system‐level compatibility in MXene ...

Distribution features of the red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) in the south of Ukraine: a case study of Mykolaiv Oblast

open access: yesTheriologia Ukrainica
Until recently, the natural geographic range of the red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) has not covered the area of Mykolaiv Oblast, as opposed to Podillia and the forest-steppe belt of Ukraine. Over the past 40 years, due to artificial and natural dispersal,

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Unlocking Photodetection Mode Switching from a Simple Lateral Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A simple lateral 2D perovskite photodetector capable of switching among transient, continuous, and dual transient/continuous photoresponse modes is achieved by integrating photoconductive effects with capacitive coupling from the SiO2/Si substrate. Such light‐programmable photodetection mode switching enables triple‐channel information transmission and

Graphene Nanosheet‐Based Mixed Proton‐Electron Conducting Membranes for Efficient Hydrogen Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...

Interfacial Bioengineering of Dynamic Networks Hybrid Hydrogel for Programmed Intervention in Oral Precancerous Epithelial States

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a dual‐bioinspired hydrogel, MSA@PGel (macrophage membrane‐coated and salvianolic acid B/5‐aminolevulinic acid co‐loaded liposomes embedded in a polydopamine‐based gel), that integrates macrophage membrane‐mediated active targeting and mussel‐inspired wet adhesion for programmed intervention in oral precancerous lesions.

Factors determining the occurrence of Flat Bugs (Aradidae) in beech dominated forests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The habitat requirements of most Aradidae and the decisive factors that influence their occurrence are still poorly understood. To reduce this lack of knowledge a standardised survey of Aradidae in two large beech forest areas of Bavaria (northern ...
