Revealing Permafrost Continuity Across a Northern Watershed With Airborne Electromagnetics
Abstract Permafrost thawing in northern regions may alter groundwater‐surface water dynamics, thereby impacting hydrologic and ecologic functions and the potential release of stored solutes including carbon. Here, we present an airborne frequency‐domain electromagnetic survey over a discontinuous permafrost region within the Central Mackenzie Valley in

The north-subducting Rheic Ocean during the Devonian: consequences for the Rhenohercynian ore sites [PDF]
Base metal mining in the Rhenohercynian Zone has a long history. Middle-Upper Devonian to Lower Carboniferous sediment-hosted massive sulfide deposits (SHMS), volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposits (VHMS) and Lahn-Dill-type iron, and base metal ores

Abstract The production, transport, loss, and export of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) are closely connected with hydrometeorological drivers. While terrestrial production depends on biogeochemical variables like soil moisture, air temperature, and the contact area between water and organic matter sources, export is determined by water availability and

Magnetotelluric Exploration of Zn Pb Mineralization in Stonepark, Irish Midlands
ABSTRACT To meet the increasing demand for raw materials and to foster the energy transition, advances in exploration techniques are required that extend capabilities to deeper and/or more densely populated areas while having a low environmental and societal impact.

ABSTRACT This study investigates garnet–clinopyroxene double‐layered coronae in a metagabbronorite from the high‐grade metamorphic Gföhl Unit (Bohemian Massif). The coronae formed at the interfaces between relic magmatic orthopyroxene, still preserved in the cores of the coronae, and the plagioclase‐rich rock matrix.

Fascinating single‐cell red algae: models for evolution and adaptation
Summary The unicellular red algae, Cyanidiophyceae, that diverged early during Archaeplastida (algal and plant) evolution, occupy a variety of extreme habitats that are inhospitable for most other eukaryotes. With the use of modern genomics and genetics methods, Cyanidiophyceae show a remarkable taxonomic diversity, share haplodiplophasic life cycles ...

A revision of Devonian trilobites from Belgium - Part 1 The Genera Cornuproetus and Radiaspis [PDF]
Belgian Devonian trilobites have long been known, although they remain comparatively poorly documented. A revision of the obsolete nomenclature seems long overdue, and added to that, critical evaluations of listings of trilobite taxa by MAILLIEUX over ...

Abstract Topographic highlands commonly develop along convergent plate boundaries through long‐term processes such as subduction and continental collision. However, the pre‐Cenozoic mountain‐building history of deep‐time orogenic systems in northeastern Pangaea remains poorly constrained due to later tectonic overprinting and denudation.
