The thick Silurian siliciclastic sedimentary rocks in the Qin‐Fang region contrasting with their absence in surrounding regions have long been an enigma for the early Paleozoic geology of South China. Here we employ detrital zircon U‐Pb geochronology and

Detrital zircon from a late Paleozoic accretionary complex of SW Iberia (Variscan Belt): History of crustal growth and recycling at the Rheic convergent margin [PDF]
In this study we present new U-Pb ages of detrital zircons from greywackes and quartzites of the Pulo do Lobo Anticline (PLA) that have been interpreted to represent a Late Paleozoic accretionary complex in SW Iberia.

Paleotemperature models of the Phanerozoic foci of hydrocarbon generation for wells belonging to the Severo-Kalinov and Kalinov fields in Tomsk region [PDF]
This paper suggests a new method of coupled paleotemperature modelling of the Nyurol Paleozoic basin and the blanketing younger Mesozoic-Cenozoic basin. Modelling show that under the geological and geophysical circumstances of the Severo-Kalinov and the ...

Middle Devonian dipnoan tooth-plates from Estonia
ABSTRACT Middle Devonian dipnoan tooth-plates have been known for an hundred and sixty years. However, although gross morphology has been described, there are still several difficulties with these descriptions. The best known Middle Devonian species is Dipterus valenciennesi from Scotland.

Devonian Spores in a Middle Silurian Reef [PDF]
Abstract A subsurface core from the Tilden reef (Middle Silurian) in southern Illinois contains a large and diverse assemblage of hystrichospherids and plant spores. The plant spores are restricted to sinuous cracks filled with calcite and brownish-gray clay.
