During the course of 14 years 249 patients with middle lobe syndrome have been examined. Both sexes participated at the same ratio. In the cause of origin, however, there was a conspicuous difference.Carcinoma was proved in 53 out of 125 males, whereas in females it appeared only 4 times with the same frequency ratio as adenoma in males.
