MIDDLE MIOCENE BIOSTRATIGRAPHY
2015In this study, 21 planktonicForaminifera species determined in the Middle Miocene sequence at the Karaisalıregion of Adana. The following biozones in Langhian-Serravalian ages aredistinguished: ? Globorotalia fohsi lobata zone, Globorotalia fohsi fohsi zone,Globorotalia fohsi peripheroronda zone.

First middle Miocene sivaladapid primate from Thailand
Journal of Human Evolution, 2008Sivaladapids are a group of Asian adapiform primates that were previously documented from deposits dating to the middle Eocene through the late Miocene in Pakistan, India, Myanmar, Thailand, and China. The group is notable for the persistence of three genera, Sivaladapis, Indraloris and Sinoadapis, into the late Miocene.

Systematics of early and middle Miocene Old World monkeys
Journal of Human Evolution, 2009New information about the early cercopithecoids Prohylobates tandyi (Wadi Moghra, Egypt) and Prohylobates sp. indet. (Buluk and Nabwal, Kenya) is presented. Comparisons are made among all major collections of Early and Middle Miocene catarrhine monkeys, and a systematic revision of the early Old World monkeys is provided.

Ross Sea Region in the Middle Miocene: A Glimpse into the Past
Science, 1979Fossil diatoms and pollen from sea-floor sediments beneath the Ross Ice Shelf indicate that a permanent ice cover was not present in the Ross Sea and that vegetation including angiosperms, gymnosperms, and ferns existed on at least some parts of the largely glaciated Antarctic mainland in the late middle Miocene.

Middle Miocene floras of Iceland — the early colonization of an island?
Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, 2007Two macrofloras, 15 and 13.5 Ma old, are described from the oldest exposed plant bearing sediments on Iceland. Many of the taxa are mentioned for the first time and a lime tree, Tilia selardalense, is described as a new species. In case of the older flora, differences in the environment are reflected in plants derived from volcanic sediments from high ...

Late Miocene hominids from the Middle Awash, Ethiopia
Nature, 2001Molecular studies suggest that the lineages leading to humans and chimpanzees diverged approximately 6.5-5.5 million years (Myr) ago, in the Late Miocene. Hominid fossils from this interval, however, are fragmentary and of uncertain phylogenetic status, age, or both.

A MILANKOVITCH CLIMATE CONTROL ON THE MIDDLE MIOCENE MEDITERRANEAN INTERMEDIATE WATER
2004The marly sediments of the Blue Clay Formation in the upper part of the Middle Miocene Ras il-Pellegrin composite section (Malta island, central Mediterranean) have been investigated by integrated analysis of benthic microfauna and planktonic and benthic oxygen isotopes.

A Middle Miocene Marine Deposition with Pyroclastics
2017Na lokalitetu Bukova glava u cementari u Našicama otkriven je stotinjak metara debeli slijed srednjemiocenskih marinskih, pretežito karbonatnih sedimenata. Osim toga, neposredno ispod granice baden-sarmat utvrđena su tri sloja izmijenjenog tufa.

A new duck from the Middle Miocene of Mongolia, with comments on Miocene evolution of ducks
Paleontological Journal, 2012A new relatively large duck, Chenoanas deserta gen. et sp. nov. from the Middle Miocene of the Sharga locality, which is morphologically intermediate between the extant genera Chenonetta and Tachyeres, is described. The diversity of Early and Middle Miocene ducks is discussed.
