UCanWBGT: urban street canyon heat stress calculation for weather and climate models
This work introduces UCanWBGT, a new model to calculate wet‐bulb globe temperature in an urban environment, suitable for use with weather and climate model data. We present the model, then verify its performance against observations made in the streets of Paris during heatwave conditions.

Habitat selection of ungulates is influenced by various factors, with human interactions playing a significant role. Human disturbances through hunting strongly affect ungulate behaviour, often forcing them to modify their habitat choices by avoiding areas where the risk from humans outweighs other habitat benefits. Gaining insights into these dynamics

Supplementary feeding for declining hedgehog Erinaceus europaeus populations is popular in Great Britain and has been suggested as an important factor in explaining higher densities in urban areas compared with rural ones. Occupancy modelling was used to test whether spatial variation in supplementary feeding, natural food, habitat, or predator ...

MAGNETOSPHERIC RESPONSE TO THE INTERACTION WITH THE SPORADIC SOLAR WIND DIAMAGNETIC STRUCTURE
We report the results of a study on the movement of the solar wind diamagnetic structure (DS), which is a sequence of smaller-scale microDS being part of the May 18, 2013 coronal mass ejection, from a source on the Sun to Earth’s surface.

Experimental assessment of large mammal population estimates from airborne thermal videography
Wildlife resource management requires reliable, fast, and affordable methods of surveying wildlife populations to develop and adaptively adjust policies. Thermal video from drones can yield high rates of detection over large areas with relative speed and safety.

Intense photooxidative degradation of planktonic and bacterial lipids in sinking particles collected with sediment traps across the Canadian Beaufort Shelf (Arctic Ocean) [PDF]
The lipid content of seven samples of sinking particles collected with sediment traps moored at ~ 100 m depth in summer and fall across the Canadian Beaufort Shelf (Arctic Ocean) was investigated. Our main goal was to quantify and characterize the biotic
