Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Dynamic Balanced Graph Partitioning

open access: yes, 2020
This paper initiates the study of the classic balanced graph partitioning problem from an online perspective: Given an arbitrary sequence of pairwise communication requests between $n$ nodes, with patterns that may change over time, the objective is to ...

Reducing the Interprocessors Migrations of the EKG Algorithm

open access: yesScalable Computing: Practice and Experience, 2018
In this work, we consider the scheduling problem of a set of periodic implicit-deadline and synchronous tasks, on a real-time multiprocessor composed of m identical processors. It is known that the cost of migrations and preemptions has significant influence on global system performances. The EKG algorithm which is optimal for k=m, can generate a great

Efficient Migration-Aware Algorithms for Elastic BPMaaS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Used data and obtained results for the paper Efficient migration-aware algorithms for elastic BPMaaS. There is the following files : configuration_types.csv contains the cloud resource types (the name is the EC2 instance for database, and for the BPM engine separated by an underscore), their price and their capacity tenants_uni.csv contains the ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Mobility aware edge service migration strategy

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2020
To address the problem of load imbalance among edge servers and quality of service degradation caused by dynamic changes of user locations in mobile edge computing networks,a mobility aware edge service migration algorithm was proposed.Firstly, the ...

A Kosloff/Basal method, 3D migration program implemented on the CYBER 205 supercomputer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Conventional finite difference migration has relied on approximations to the acoustic wave equation which allow energy to propagate only downwards. Although generally reliable, such approaches usually do not yield an accurate migration for geological ...

Throughput Maximization in Multiprocessor Speed-Scaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We are given a set of $n$ jobs that have to be executed on a set of $m$ speed-scalable machines that can vary their speeds dynamically using the energy model introduced in [Yao et al., FOCS'95].

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
