Forecasting Regional Migration Flows

2020 10th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT), 2020
The article deals the state of migration of the population of Khmelnytsky region. The essence and main characteristics of regional migration movements are considered. A detailed analysis of regional migration internal and external movements by type of settlements is carried out. The dynamics of regional migration flows are estimated.

Transparent flow migration for NFV

2016 IEEE 24th International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP), 2016
NFV together with SDN provides the flexibility for NFs in the way that they are deployed and managed. The flexibility enables dynamical scale in and scale out through migrating in-process flows among NFs. Due to stateful packet processing in NFs, flow migration has to guarantee loss-free and order-preserving for both flow states and packets.

Turkish migration in Europe: EU accession and migration flows

Migration Letters, 2014
This paper analyses the impact of Turkey's potential EU membership on emigration from Turkey to the European Union. We apply panel data estimators using the data on emigration from EU15 countries into Germany and the Netherlands in order to construct possible future scenarios of Turkish migration to the EU.

Minimizing the Flow Time Without Migration

SIAM Journal on Computing, 1999
Summary: We consider the classical problem of scheduling jobs in a multiprocessor setting in order to minimize the flow time (total time in the system). The performance of the algorithm, both in offline and online settings, can be significantly improved if we allow preemption, i.e., interrupt a job and later continue its execution, perhaps migrating it

Migration Flows, Their Determinants and the Effects of Return Migration

Journal of Political Economy, 1971
The analysis of migration flows is naturally concerned with the relationships between migration and such variables as incomes or income differentials, employment opportunities, and distance. But before this can proceed, a prior question needs to be answered: whether to study gross or net migration flows.
