The Effect of Nonstationarity in Rainfall on Urban Flooding Based on Coupling SWMM and MIKE21

Water Resources Management, 2020
The characteristics of urban pluvial flooding are altering all over the world due to environmental change. In this paper, generalized additive models for location, scale and shape (GAMLSS) was employed to analyze nonstationary frequency of extreme precipitation at subdaily scale.

Seawater exchange rates for harbors based on the use of MIKE21 coupled with transport and particle tracking models

Journal of Coastal Conservation, 2021
The water self-purification capacities of coastal areas can be affected by the extension of adjacent harbors. Studies of the seawater exchange capacities of harbors are viewed as an important index and means of protecting coastal water environments. In this paper, the MIKE21 hydrodynamic model (HD) is established and coupled with the transport model ...

Modeling Spatial Pattern of Salinity using MIKE21 and Principal Component Analysis Technique in Urmia Lake

open access: yesCurrent World Environment Journal, 2015
Urmia Lake in the northwestern of Iran is a hypersaline water body and has become an environmentally important issue especially due to the presence of an infrequent aquatic species, Artemia Urmiana. During the last three decades, several considerable man-made changes including river damming and construction of a causeway across the lake affected the ...

Application of MIKE21 MODEL on Flood Routing in the Lower Yellow River from Gaocun to Sunkou

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
The 2-D water flow mathematical model based on MIKE 21 software which reflects flood routing in the reach from Gaocun to Sunkou has been developed in this paper. Through the numerical simulation of the “96.8” typical flood, the simulating results in the condition of present topography are agreement with the measured ones.

The Simulation of Shallow Reservoir Eutrophication Based on MIKE21: A Case Study of Douhe Reservoir in North China

open access: yesProcedia Environmental Sciences, 2012
AbstractEutrophication in lakes and reservoirs occurs all over the world and has attracted wide attention in recent years. MIKE21, a numerical model focusing on eutrophication in lakes and reservoirs, was used to construct a two-dimensional eutrophication model. Douhe Reservoir in North China was used for the study.

INTERACTION BETWEEN TIDE AND STORM SURGE USING MIKE21 NUMERICAL MODEL

Tạp chí Khoa học Công nghệ Hàng hải
The study of the relationship between tides and storm surges is important for forecasting sea level rise during storms to support flood prevention and response in coastal areas. The paper focuses on assessing the existence of nonlinear tide-surge interactions. Observational water level data measured at the hydrographic station are used to calibrate the

Dam Break Simulation Using DHI-MIKE21 in the Eg Hydropower Plant, Mongolia

2018
This chapter focuses on a dam break assumptions and assesses a flood risk in the downstream area of the Eg hydropower plant, Mongolia. Two-dimensional DHI-MIKE model was set up. The model presents the volume of water in a reservoir, a flood mapping, and flood risk zone in the downstream area of the hydropower station. The model has been supplied by the

Wave and hydrodynamics modelling in coastal areas with TELEMAC and MIKE21

2013
Abstract—Wave and hydrodynamics modelling in coastal areas is nowadays an indispensable tool for both research and engineering/environmental design. The selection among the various available models is equally essential and should be done cautiously, taking into consideration both the models’ capabilities and the actual modelling needs.
