FLOOD HAZARD ASSESSMENT FOR ALIBEYKOY WATERSHED IN ISTANBUL WITH MIKE NAM AND MIKE 21

open access: yesEnvironmental Engineering and Management Journal, 2022
Increase in flood events due to uncontrolled urbanization, global warming and climate change affects the economy of the countries and causes loss of life and property. Especially, floodplain boundaries have to be defined clearly to prevent new developments in regions under high flood risk. Thus, flood hazard maps play an important role in flood control

Modelling shoreline morphology and sand transport in Golspie with MIKE 21

open access: yes, 2023
To respond to site-specific coastal flooding concerns, it is important to understand sediment movement in addition to overall shoreline change. This report applies GIS data to MIKE modelling software to observe sand transport in Golspie, Scotland, following predicted flooding scenarios made by the Dynamic Coast project.

MIKE 21: a modelling system for estuaries, coastal waters and seas

Environmental Software, 1992
Abstract MIKE 21 is a comprehensive modelling system for the simulation of hydraulics and hydraulic-related phenomena in estuaries, coastal waters and seas. It can be applied to any two-dimensional free-surface flows where stratification can be neglected.

Sediment transport balance investigations for the Saaremaa harbour with mike 21 models

2004 USA-Baltic Internation Symposium, 2004
The proposed construction of a new harbour, into the vicinity of the bird protection area on the island of Saaremaa, initiated probably the most serious program of investigations in the history of Estonian port construction. It involved on site measurements of water properties, bird observations, investigations on local sea fauna and flora and ...

Simulation of the effect of an oil refining project on the water environment using the MIKE 21 model

Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Parts A/B/C, 2018
Abstract A case study of the Caofeidian oil refining project is conducted. A two-dimensional convective dispersion mathematical model is established to simulate the increase in the concentration of pollutants resulting from the wastewater discharge from the Caofeidian oil refining project and to analyze the characteristics of the dispersion of ...

Modelling of Wave Interaction with Submerged Breakwater Using MIKE 21 BW-PART I

2008
Irregular waves transmission over submerged breakwater was analyzed in numerical model, MIKE 21 BW 1D. Results from this model were compared with laboratory measurements in physical model tests (Johnson, 2005), also with empirical models (D`Argenmond, 1996, Seabrook, 1998, Buccino, 2007).
