Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

TBK1‐Associated Primary Lateral Sclerosis Followed by Right Temporal Variant Frontotemporal Dementia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We report a 58‐year‐old woman with a novel splice‐site variant in the TANK‐binding kinase 1 (TBK1:c.993–2A>C p.Ala332TyrfsTer39) who sequentially developed primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) followed by right temporal variant frontotemporal dementia (rtvFTD). Neuroimaging demonstrated right anterior temporal atrophy before cognitive symptoms, and

Inhibitive Effect of N’-(7-chloroquinolin-4-yl)-N, N-diethyl- pentane-1,4-diamine Towards Mild Steel/Sulphuric Acid Solution Interface

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2012
Corrosion inhibition of mild steel by N’-(7-chloroquinolin-4-yl)-N,N-diethyl-pentane-1,4-diamine (CDPD) towards mild steel / sulphuric acid solution interface using weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization studies.

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Effect of carbonization on the mechanical properties of mild steel utilizing oak charcoal as a carbon source [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal
Carburizing is a process that improves the mechanical properties of low-carbon steel, particularly its surface hardness. Introducing carbon into the steel's surface enhances the creation of a durable and resistant outer layer.  The technique is ...

Primary Creep of Mild Steel

open access: yesTransactions of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, 1957
In this paper, an empirical formula is introduced concerning with the relation between transient creep rate, stress, and temperature at the primary creep of mild steel. Experiments are made on 0.14% carbon steel to verify the formula, and it is found that the formula can be applied to fairly wide range of stress and temperature.
