Inhibition of SLC11A1‐Mediated Lysosomal Iron Accumulation in Microglia Promotes Repair Following White Matter Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic and pharmacological inhibition of SLC11A1 functioning as an H+/Fe2+ antiporter–mediated lysosomal iron accumulation in microglia promotes lysosomal lumen acidification, increases CTSD expression, enhances lysosomal myelin debris uptake and degradation, and promotes repair following white matter stroke. ABSTRACT White matter stroke (WMS) results

Mammalian Proteome Profiling Reveals Readers and Antireaders of Strand‐Symmetric and ‐Asymmetric 5‐Hydroxymethylcytosine‐Modifications in DNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate by proteomics studies how strand‐symmetric and ‐asymmetric cytosine 5‐modifications in DNA are selectively recognized by the nuclear proteome. Using promoter probes with defined modification patterns, we identify tissue‐specific reader proteinsincluding MYC, MAX, and RFX5that discriminate 5‐hydroxymethylcytosine symmetry and sequence ...

Small Nucleolar RNA Snord17 Promotes Self‐Renewal of Intestinal Stem Cells through Yy2 mRNA Export and Tead4 Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Snord17, through interaction with Thoc3, promotes nuclear export and translation of Yy2 mRNA in Snord17+/+ ISCs. The Yy2 protein subsequently binds the Tead4 promoter to promote its transcription, activating Hippo signaling, which is essential for ISC maintenance.

Targeting WEE1 in ARID1A/TP53 Concurrent Mutant Colorectal Cancer by Exploiting R‐Loop Accumulation and DNA Repair Deficiencies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARID1A, a SWI/SNF complex component, is frequently mutated in colorectal cancer (CRC). CRC with ARID1A/TP53 concurrent mutations shows marked sensitivity to WEE1 inhibition. ARID1A loss induces R‐loop‐mediated replication stress, impairs ATF3 transcription, and amplifies WEE1i‐induced DNA damage, suggesting a promising therapeutic vulnerability ...

Role of milk and milk products in the spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the dairy production chain.

Journal of Food Science, 2022
Milk and milk products can harbor a multiple varieties of microorganisms. Therefore, they can be an important source of foodborne pathogens, including multidrug-resistant bacteria. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) causes a wide spectrum

Milk and Milk Products

Svenska lakartidningen, 2003
Milk is the first food of young mammals produced by the mammary glands of female mammals. It is a mixture of fat and high-quality protein in water and contains some carbohydrate (lactose), vitamins, and minerals. Milk and milk products may be obtained from different species, such as goats and sheep, although the focus of this chapter is on cow’s milk ...
