A lithium superionic conductor for millimeter-thick battery electrode
Science, 2023No design rules have yet been established for producing solid electrolytes with a lithium-ion conductivity high enough to replace liquid electrolytes and expand the performance and battery configuration limits of current lithium ion batteries.

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1998
The paper describes a band-splitting filter or diplexer, which splits the incoming spectrum into the sub-bands 120-139 GHz and 141-158 GHz. This diplexer is intended to separate the electron cyclotron emission of a magnetically confined plasma into two subbands and to feed two independent heterodyne radiometers.

Millimeter-wave-detected, millimeter-wave optical polarization spectroscopy
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005We report a new form of microwave optical double-resonance spectroscopy called millimeter-wave-detected, millimeter-wave optical polarization spectroscopy (mmOPS). In contrast to other forms of polarization spectroscopy, in which the polarization rotation of optical beams is detected, the mmOPS technique is based on the polarization rotation of ...

Laser-Millimeter Wave Techniques
Applied Optics, 1971The use of millimeter techniques with lasers has resulted in the stabilization of a laser to an absolute frequency standard. Also, a high resolution infrared spectrometer with the characteristics of a microwave spectrometer has been developed.

Millimeter-wave and Terahertz Spectrum for 6G Wireless
Computer Communications and Networks, 2021With the standardization of 5G, commercial millimeter wave (mmWave) communications has become a reality despite all the concerns about the unfavorable propagation characteristics of these frequencies. Even though the 5G systems are still being rolled out,

Millimeter-Wave Imaging Sensor
SPIE Proceedings, 1986A dual polarized 3-mm radiometer system, with a mechanically scanned antenna, has been built for use on a small aircraft or RPV to produce near real-time moderate resolution (0.5°) images of the ground. One of the main advantages of this passive imaging sensor is that it is able to provide surveillance information through clouds, smoke, and dust when ...

Through Fog High-Resolution Imaging Using Millimeter Wave Radar
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2020This paper demonstrates high-resolution imaging using millimeter Wave (mmWave) radars that can function even in dense fog. We leverage the fact that mmWave signals have favorable propagation characteristics in low visibility conditions, unlike optical ...

Millimeter wavelength thermographic scanner
Medical Physics, 1981Two new types of thermographic instruments sensitive to millimeter-wave electromagnetic radiation have been designed, constructed, and tested. These instruments utilize wavelengths that are three orders of magnitude longer and much more penetrating than those used in conventional infrared thermography.

Millimeter-Wave Integrated Circuits
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1968Monolithic millimeter-wave integrated circuits have been designed and fabricated on semi-insulating GaAs substrates using microstrip transmission lines. Circuits using hybrid techniques have also been constructed on quartz and ceramics. This paper shows that microstrip-line integrated circuits are feasible at millimeter-wave frequencies.
