Simplified radar architecture based on information metasurface

open access: yesNature Communications
Modern radar typically employs a chain radio-frequency (RF)-digital architecture, imposing high costs, substantial hardware burdens, and integration challenges. Here, we propose a simplified radar architecture based on space-time-coding (STC) information

A Terahertz Programmable Digital Metasurface Based on Vanadium Dioxide

open access: yesPhotonics
Metasurfaces can realize the flexible manipulation of electromagnetic waves, which have the advantages of a low profile and low loss. In particular, the coding metasurface can flexibly manipulate electromagnetic waves through controllable sequence ...

Millimeter dust continuum emission unveiling the true mass of giant molecular clouds in the Small Magellanic Cloud

open access: yes, 2007
CO observations have been so far the best way to trace molecular gas in external galaxies, but at low metallicity the gas mass deduced could be largely underestimated.

Hybrid Beamforming for Millimeter Wave Systems Using the MMSE Criterion [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2019
Hybrid analog and digital beamforming (HBF) has recently emerged as an attractive technique for millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication systems. It well balances the demand for sufficient beamforming gains to overcome the propagation loss and the desire ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

A plasmonic meta-rotary travelling-wave oscillator with ultrahigh phase accuracy and figure of merit

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications
High phase accuracy and figure of merit (FOM) of quadrature signals are essential for integrated systems, including quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) communications and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar.

A Multi-Layer Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Waveguide With Corrugated Ground

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Due to the unique properties of field confinement and enhancement, spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are considered as special modes to break many challenges in traditional electronic and microwave engineering.

Multi-layer transmission line of spoof surface plasmon polaritons

open access: yesEPJ Applied Metamaterials, 2022
In modern microwave technology, multi-layer structure is widely adopted in compact circuit design. In a multi-layer microwave system, the transmission line (TL) plays an important role.

Millimeter Light Curve with Abrupt Jump in Cyg X-3 2008 April-May Outburst

open access: yes, 2010
Cyg X-3 is a well-known microquasar with a bipolar relativistic jet. Its famous giant radio outbursts have been repeated once every several years. However, the behavior of the millimeter wave emission has remained unclear because of limitations of time ...

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.
