A new taper-shaped linearly polarized (LP) magneto-electric (ME) dipole, excited by the U-shaped microstrip line through a coupling slot, is proposed in this paper. An ultra-wide simulated impedance bandwidth of 85% (20.5-50.6 GHz) and 1.5-dB gain

Millimeter-wave detection of landmines
Millimeter wave absorption relative to background soil can be used for detection landmines with little or no metal content. At these frequencies, soil and landmine absorb electromagnetic energy differently. Stepped frequency measurements from 20 GHz to 60 GHz were used to detect buried surrogate landmines in the soil.

A Circularly-Polarized-Reconfigurable Patch Antenna With Liquid Dielectric
A circularly-polarized-reconfigurable patch antenna based on fluidic control method is proposed in this paper. A liquid dielectric, ethyl acetate, is introduced to change the substrate of a patch antenna from homogeneous to inhomogeneous.

Study of millimeter wave phase shift in 40 GHz hybrid mode locked lasers [PDF]
An investigation into using hybrid mode-locked lasers to implement millimeter wave phase shift is presented. The phase shift is measured directly using a vector network analyzer enabling straightforward characterization of such systems.

Decoupling of Dual-Polarized Antenna Arrays Using Non-Resonant Metasurface
A non-resonant metasurface (NRMS) concept is reported in this paper to improve the isolation of dual-polarized and wideband large-scale antenna arrays. By properly designing the NRMS, it can perform stable negative permeability and positive permittivity ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
