MIMO in HSDPA and Legacy-MIMO Co-Existence
2010 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference GLOBECOM 2010, 2010Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission improves downlink spectral efficiency and is a key feature of Release 7 High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA). When the Node-B is configured in the MIMO mode with secondary common control pilot channel (S-CPICH), the power amplifiers (PAs) for the two transmit antennas are not balanced.

2012 IEEE First AESS European Conference on Satellite Telecommunications (ESTEL), 2012
The presence of fading in radio communications is the major impairment to reach the promised capacity. Diversity is a way to limit the fading effects and MIMO is a technique to exploit it. It is shown that in terrestrial mobile radio communications MIMO is an effective techniques while for satellite systems it requires further study to exploit possible

Switching between MIMO‐TDMA and MIMO‐CDMA
Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, 2012AbstractThe throughput analyses for MIMO‐TDMA (multiple‐input multiple‐output with time division multiple access) and MIMO‐CDMA (multiple‐input multiple‐output with code division multiple access) are performed. These analyses show that there is a crossover in the throughput for MIMO‐TDMA and MIMO‐CDMA.

UD-MIMO: Uplink Distributed MIMO for Wireless LANs
2021 18th Annual IEEE International Conference on Sensing, Communication, and Networking (SECON), 2021Wireless local area networks (WLANs) are a key component of the telecommunications infrastructure in our society. While many solutions have been produced to improve their downlink throughput, the techniques for enhancing their uplink throughput remain limited.

According to previsions, Spanish population over 65 years old will soon be an important fraction. For the EU region, old-age dependency ratios will more than double in 2000 to 2050, decreasing, at the same time, the ratio of persons of working age to every elderly people. These data show the need for some helping technologies that make possible to deal

Implementation of full-dimensional MIMO (FD-MIMO) in LTE
2013 Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2013Data-centric mobile devices poses challenges to operators on sustaining the rapid growth of mobile traffic. Recently, full-dimensional MIMO (FD-ΜΓΜΟ) emerges as a promising technique to significantly increase spectrum efficiency and has been proposed and investigated in 3GPP LTE (Long Term Evolution) and LTE-advanced (LTE-A).

MIMO and massive MIMO — Analysis for a local area scenario
2015 23rd European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2015The performance of centralized and distributed deployments of massive MIMO in an office building is analyzed both with and without cooperation. It is shown that using twice as many base station antennas as data streams provides most of the massive MIMO benefits.

Spectral Coexistence of MIMO Radar and MIMO Cellular System
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2017This paper details designing the precoder of a MIMO-radar spectrally-coexistent with a MIMO cellular system. Spectrum sharing with zero or minimal interference is achieved by using, respectively, the conventional switched null space projection (SNSP) or the newly proposed switched small singular value space projection (SSSVSP).

A practical throughput comparison of MIMO-CDMA and MIMO-OFDM
IEEE 60th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2004. VTC2004-Fall. 2004, 2005This paper describes a realistic capacity comparison of MIMO-CDMA and MIMO-OFDM schemes, by taking account of several practical factors, such as actual modulation and channel coding, channel estimation error, spectrum loss due to band-pass filtering, and power loss due to pilot and control signal insertion.
