A slotted waveguide based MIMO antenna system for wireless access points

2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2016
In this work, a slotted rectangular waveguide (SRWG) with multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna configuration for wireless access points is presented. The MIMO antenna system consists of 4 elements and operates from 5 to 6 GHz. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) was applied to find the optimized position of the slots.

MIMO PCB‐integrated slot antenna for IEEE 802.11n WLAN access‐point applications

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2016
ABSTRACTA multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) slot antenna integrated with a printed circuit board (PCB) is proposed for access‐point (AP) applications. The antenna comprises two square slot radiators fed by mutually orthogonal 50‐Ω microstrip lines. Through an appropriate adjustment of the antenna geometry parameters, a sufficient −10 dB return loss

Characterising an In-Room MIMO System Employing Elevation-Directional Access Point Antennas

Wireless Personal Communications, 2017
The performance of an in-room MIMO system is investigated with the use of elevation-directional access point (AP) antennas which emphasize wall-reflected NLOS components instead of non-directional antennas. Simulation results suggest that the mean MIMO capacity throughout an idealised in-room environment can be improved on the order of 14% coupled with

Four‐port MIMO Vivaldi antenna for access points

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters
AbstractIn this article, a 4‐port multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) antenna array is presented, based on a Vivaldi design for nonplanar applications like access points above 6 GHz. The antenna is configured with four Vivaldi antennas arranged orthogonally, one to each other, to increase the electromagnetic isolation among elements.
