MIMO CDMA antenna systems

2000 IEEE International Conference on Communications. ICC 2000. Global Convergence Through Communications. Conference Record, 2002
We investigate the performance of a DS/CDMA system with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna processing in the downlink. We formulate the weights for the transmit and receive antennas by trying to obtain the optimum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) in a frequency selective fading channel. The gain of our MIMO CDMA system with the

On optimum MIMO with antenna selection

IEEE Communications Letters, 2002
Wireless communication systems with transmit and receive antenna arrays are studied when antenna selection is used. A case with very limited feedback of information from the receiver to the transmitter is considered, where the only information fed back is the selected subset of transmit antennas to be employed.

Antenna selection in MIMO systems

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2004
Multiple-antenna systems, also known as multiple-input multiple-output radio, can improve the capacity and reliability of radio communication. However, the multiple RF chains associated with multiple antennas are costly in terms of size, power, and hardware. Antenna selection is a low-cost low-complexity alternative to capture many of the advantages of

A novel parasitic-MIMO antenna

2006 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2006
Based on the results of a numerical investigation, the performance of the parasitic-MIMO system can be improved with the introduction of simple and cheap parasitic elements. The introduction of the switchable parasitic elements help to modify the channel introducing a sort of "controllable scatterers" in the close proximity of the active elements.

MIMO antenna system for LTE

2013 36th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2013
The papers main goal is to present some simulation in designing a MIMO system for LTE in 800 MHz band for automotive industry. Section 2 contains some aspects about antennas used in the automotive industry and about MIMO systems. Section 3 refers to some characteristics of the Inverted F antenna (IF) and Planar Inverted F (PIF).

Spiral Planar Antenna for MIMO

2018 IEEE 7th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2018
A high gain spiral planar antenna for the multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) is proposed and fabricated in the frequency band of 2.4GHz. Its maximum and average gains are higher than those of the commercialized antenna. Two fabricated antennas are put adjacent to the same and reverse direction, and MIMO antennas are composed.

MIMO Antennas

2016
Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology has appeared to overcome the data throughput limit faced by conventional Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) wireless communication systems. In MIMO, a significant increase in the data throughput is obtained using multiple data streams sent and received by multiple antenna elements on the transmitter and ...

Optimization of antenna configuration for MIMO systems

GLOBECOM '03. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37489), 2004
In this letter, we investigate the issue of selecting the number of antennas at the base station and at the mobile to optimize ergodic capacity of a multiple-input/multiple-output system, when the costs of implementing antennas at the base station and at the mobile are unequal.

The MIMO antenna as a communication channel

2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007
The understanding of the connections between information theory and electromagnetic theory is a new topic which is attracting a fast growing number of researchers. This work represents a further contribution toward the understanding of the connections between these two theories. In particular, in this contribution the antenna is discussed from an usual

Multiple MIMO with Antenna Number Modulation

2020 International Conference on UK-China Emerging Technologies (UCET), 2020
In this paper, a novel data transmission method, Multiple MIMO system with Antenna Number Modulation (M-MIMO-ANM) is proposed to take the advantages of conventional antenna number modulation (ANM) one step further and increase the spectral efficiency, by increasing the number of antennas in the system and grouping them in blocks. With this improvement,
