Spiral Planar Antenna for MIMO

2018 IEEE 7th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2018
A high gain spiral planar antenna for the multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) is proposed and fabricated in the frequency band of 2.4GHz. Its maximum and average gains are higher than those of the commercialized antenna. Two fabricated antennas are put adjacent to the same and reverse direction, and MIMO antennas are composed.

MIMO Antennas

2016
Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology has appeared to overcome the data throughput limit faced by conventional Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) wireless communication systems. In MIMO, a significant increase in the data throughput is obtained using multiple data streams sent and received by multiple antenna elements on the transmitter and ...

Optimization of antenna configuration for MIMO systems

GLOBECOM '03. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37489), 2004
In this letter, we investigate the issue of selecting the number of antennas at the base station and at the mobile to optimize ergodic capacity of a multiple-input/multiple-output system, when the costs of implementing antennas at the base station and at the mobile are unequal.

The MIMO antenna as a communication channel

2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007
The understanding of the connections between information theory and electromagnetic theory is a new topic which is attracting a fast growing number of researchers. This work represents a further contribution toward the understanding of the connections between these two theories. In particular, in this contribution the antenna is discussed from an usual

Multiple MIMO with Antenna Number Modulation

2020 International Conference on UK-China Emerging Technologies (UCET), 2020
In this paper, a novel data transmission method, Multiple MIMO system with Antenna Number Modulation (M-MIMO-ANM) is proposed to take the advantages of conventional antenna number modulation (ANM) one step further and increase the spectral efficiency, by increasing the number of antennas in the system and grouping them in blocks. With this improvement,

Antenna selection for MIMO-OFDM systems

Signal Processing, 2008
In this paper, a new subcarrier-by-subcarrier antenna selection scheme for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) space-frequency block coded (SFBC) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system concatenated with a turbo product code is presented.

Broadband MIMO antennas for MIMO radar systems

2013 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2013
Methods of reducing both electric and magnetic field coupling for enhancing the isolation in broadband MIMO antenna system is presented. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed self-complementary antennas (SCAs) and a U-shaped slot is etched on the ground plane.

MIMO capacity and antenna array design

IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005
It is generally accepted that correlation reduces the capacity of the MIMO radio channel. Recently, however, it has been pointed out that several sources of correlation exist. Whereas most often in communications, correlation is interpreted in terms of spatial correlations due to the propagation environment, also the coupling between transmit and ...

On the capacity of vector antenna MIMO systems

International Symposium onInformation Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004. Proceedings., 2004
Most wireless communication systems currently employ single- or dual-polarized antennas which measure one or two components of the received electromagnetic (EM) signal. In this paper, we investigate the performance gains achievable by using "vector antennas" that can detect or excite up to six independent degrees of freedom.

Compact MIMO antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2016
In this letter, a miniature wide-band 1 × 2 antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna has a wider impedance bandwidth, 70% and small size, 31 × 20 × 1.6 mm3. There is a good isolation between two antennas, below −15 dB in the operating band. A monopole configuration is used to achieve the wide-band response and a mushroom type Electronics Band-gap ...
