Especies Útiles del Género Mimosa (Fabaceae-Mimosoideae) en México

open access: yes, 2017
By the number of species, Mimosa is the most important genus of Mimosoideae in Mexico; however, species of this genus have not been considered as important natural resources, due to the lack of ethnobotanic information. Based on the revision of herbarium

Aboveground Biomass in West African Semi‐Arid Ecosystems: Structural Diversity, Taxonomic Contributions and Environmental Drivers

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2025.
ABSTRACT The role of plant diversity and biomass in ecosystem functioning and management is well recognized. However, the structural drivers of aboveground biomass (AGB) and their influence across savanna ecosystems remain understudied, particularly in semi‐arid regions.

Gum and Resins Production in Ethiopia’s Drylands: A Critical Review of Value Chain, Governance, and Policy Frameworks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Forestry Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Natural gum and resins from Ethiopia’s drylands are vital nontimber resources that support rural livelihoods and the economy. They benefit pastoral communities by diversifying incomes and promoting sustainability. This paper explores the distribution, ecology, and trade of gum–resins‐producing tree species, highlighting the roles of various ...

VibePy: An open‐source tool for conducting high‐fidelity vibrational playback experiments

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 172, Issue 12, Page 1176-1183, December 2024.
Many insect species communicate via vibrational signals through solid substrates. One widely used experimental approach for studying vibrational communication is the playback experiment. Here, we present an open‐source software tool, VibePy, that (1) measures and compensates for undesired filtering and (2) calibrates playback amplitude.

Biogeography of Australian Camphorosmeae and Diversification in Climatic Space and Across Arid Habitat Types

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2024.
Integrating molecular phylogenetics, bioclimatic data and biogeographical models, this study explores the biogeography of Australian Camphorosmeae (Amaranthaceae s.l.), revealing clade‐specific shifts and adaptations to different habitats and climatic conditions over evolutionary time.
