Responses of soil mineral-associated and particulate organic carbon to carbon input: A meta-analysis

Science of the Total Environment, 2022
A minor change of soil organic carbon (SOC) greatly influences atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration and climate change. Exogenous carbon (C) input into soils can induce SOC decomposition or sequestration. The response of SOC to C input can be better understood when SOC is separated into mineral-associated (MAOC) and particulate (POC) organic carbon.

Divergent contribution of particulate and mineral-associated organic matter to soil carbon in grassland

Journal of Environmental Management, 2023
Sequestration of soil organic carbon (SOC) is an effective means to draw atmospheric CO2. Grassland restoration is one of the fastest methods to increase soil C stocks, and particulate-associated C and mineral-associated C play critical roles in soil C stocks during restoration.
