Lunar‐Based Photothermal CO2 Reduction Strategy: Self‐Evolving Transient Active Interface and Band Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐evolving Pd/Ov‐FeTiO3 photothermal catalyst, inspired by lunar soil, enables efficient extraterrestrial CO2 conversion. The formation of transient active interfaces and oxygen vacancies extends light absorption to the infrared range and optimizes electron transfer.

Mineral resource management: Evaluating mineral resource throughput management

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Business Management, 2016
Mining operations are increasingly challenged to sustain and improve its profitability. Mineral Resource Throughput Management (MRTM) is showing immense promise to become a fit for use mining management and improvement methodology. Research indicated that the three dimensions of MRTM, namely physical and non-physical constraint management, product ...

Sticky Yet Slippery: Molecular Ordering Reconciles Bubble‐Surface Affinity With Ultralow Friction at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By engineering the molecular order and thickness of PDMS layers, we reconcile the stickiness and slipperiness during bubble transport. AFM measurements and MD simulations further reveal how these nanoscale architectures tune hydrophobic interaction FHB and friction force f.

Trophic Diversity in Duckweed: Mixotrophy, More Than the Sum of its Extremes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of rising DOC in aquatic environments, mixotrophic duckweed may impact carbon cycling by acting as either a carbon sink, as they absorb CO2 through photosynthesis, or a carbon source, as they release CO2 through respiration of absorbed DOC, which depends on DOC concentration, light availability, temperature, and other environmental ...
