Mineralogy and Cultural Heritage
In recent years there has been an escalation in the number of mineralogical studies involving cultural heritage materials. A number of factors have contributed to this exponential growth, including the shrinking budgets in traditional research fields, which forced the expansion of applications of mineralogical methods to novel research areas.

This study integrates and expands the U–Pb detrital zircon dataset from the Colton fluvial system to highlight spatial variations in provenance signals within the early Palaeogene infill of the south‐western Uinta Basin, in Utah. The provenance data sheds light on the origin of clastic sediment and on the relationship with potential palaeodrainage ...

A SOFIA FORCAST Grism Study of the Mineralogy of Dust in the Winds of Proto-planetary Nebulae: RV Tauri Stars and SRd Variables [PDF]
We present a SOFIA FORCAST grism spectroscopic survey to examine the mineralogy of the circumstellar dust in a sample of post-asymptotic giant branch yellow supergiants that are believed to be the precursors of planetary nebulae. Our mineralogical model of each star indicates the presence of both carbon rich and oxygen rich dust species-contrary to ...

An integrated mineralogical, petrographic, light stable isotope and noble gas investigation of Sahara 99201 ureilite [PDF]
New ureilite Sahara 99201 has been investigated to determine mineralogy, petrography, light stable isotopes and noble gases. The sample is a typical olivine pigeonite ureilite (Fo 78, Wo 10, En 72).

Zircon dissolution in a ductile shear zone, Monte Rosa granite gneiss, northern Italy [PDF]
The sizes, distributions and shapes of zircon grains within variably deformed granite gneiss from the western Alps have been studied. Zircon shows numerous indicators of a metamorphic response in both the host gneiss and a 5 cm wide continuous ductile ...

Late Jurassic extension, footwall uplift, erosion and karstification of marine Jurassic carbonates in the western Cameros Basin (Spain) resulted in the deposition of ?Upper Kimmeridgian‐Tithonian syntectonic alluvial fan deposits and a series of ?Tithonian to Berriasian distal alluvial marls, palustrine, lacustrine and finally lagoonal carbonates.

FAHLORES OF ORE FACIES OF THE YUBILEYNOE MASSIVE SULFIDE DEPOSIT (SOUTH URALS) [PDF]
The Ag-, Te-, Mn, Pb-bearing tennantite and minerals of the tennantite-tetrahedrite series are recognized in chalcopyrite-pyrite-sphalerite-talc-calcite smoker chimneys, bornite- and chalcopyrite-rich and quartz-carbonate-hematite diagenites and ...

The Composition and Mineralogy of Rocky Exoplanets: A Survey of >4,000 Stars from the Hypatia Catalog [PDF]
We present a survey of >4,000 star compositions from the Hypatia Catalog to examine whether rocky exoplanets (i.e., those with rocky surfaces, dominated by silicates) might be geologically similar to Earth, at least with respect to composition and mineralogy. To do so, we explore the variety of reported stellar compositions to then determine a possible
