An Active Matrix Mini‐LEDs Backlight based on a‐Si

SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2020
Beyond LCD and OLED, mini‐LEDs and micro‐LEDs are expected to be a promising candidate for future displays. In this work, we fabricate an active matrix mini‐LEDs backlight based on a‐Si. The driving mechanism with 2T1C and process flow are discussed in detail. IR‐drop is analyzed and improved through several method because of the fact that high current

Birefringent light‐shaping films for mini‐LED backlights

Journal of the Society for Information Display, 2020
AbstractBirefringent light‐shaping films (BLSFs) for mini‐LED backlit liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are proposed and experimentally demonstrated by passive polymer‐dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films. Such films show angle‐selective scattering properties, achieved by proper material engineering and good vertical alignment of liquid crystals.

Emerging high-dynamic-range mini-LED displays

Advances in Display Technologies IX, 2019
We introduce mini-LED as a promising solution for high dynamic range displays. For mini-LED backlit local dimming LCD, we build a model to simulate the displayed image quality. Through modeling and subjective experiments, we demonstrate that the annoying halo effect could be suppressed to an unnoticeable level by appropriately choosing local dimming ...

(Digital Presentation) Fine Nitride Phosphors for Mini-LED Backlights

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2022
Mini-LED backlights, combining color conversion materials with blue Mini-LED chips, promise traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs) with higher luminance, better contrast and wider color gamut. As color conversion materials, Cd- or Pb-based quantum dots are usually toxic and unstable, and commercially available inorganic phosphors are quite ...

(Digital Presentation) Lead Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots for Mini-LEDs

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2022
Lead halide perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) are triggering a revolution in display technologies because of their near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), narrow band emission, wide tunable bandgap and facile synthesis. Therefore, they have been extensively investigated as color converters or emissive layers for light-emitting diode (LED ...

Fan-Out Panel-Level Packaging of Mini-LED RGB Display

IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology, 2021
In this study, the feasibility of mini-light-emitting diode (LED) RGB display fabricated by a chip-first fan-out panel-level packaging is investigated. Emphasis is placed on the design, materials, process, fabrication, and reliability of the mini-LED RGB display package on a printed circuit board (PCB). The mini-LEDs under consideration and their sizes
