Experience, Memory, and Plant life in Adorno’s Minima Moralia
Journal of Continental PhilosophyIn this paper I argue that the fragmented plant references in Theodor Adorno’s Minima Moralia form a constellation figuring experience (understood in a very specific sense) decimated through instrumental reason. Plants appear in Adorno’s text as symptoms, shock fragments of unprocessed experiences that cannot be taken up retrospectively in memory.
