Parabolic Catalan numbers count flagged Schur functions and their appearances as type A Demazure characters (key polynomials) [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2017
Fix an integer partition lambda that has no more than n parts. Let beta be a weakly increasing n-tuple with entries from {1,..,n}. The flagged Schur function indexed by lambda and beta is a polynomial generating function in x_1, .., x_n for certain ...

GMRES and the minimal polynomial [PDF]

open access: yesBIT Numerical Mathematics, 1996
A qualitative model is presented for the convergence behaviour of GMRES for solving nonsingular systems of linear equations \(Ax=b\) in finite and infinite dimensions. If the eigenvalues of the matrix \(A\) consist of a single cluster point plus outliers then the convergence factor is bounded by the cluster radius.

A Two‐Stage Questionnaire and Actigraphy Screening for iRBD in a Multicenter Retrospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid‐eye‐movement sleep behavior disorder is a prodromal marker of synucleinopathies. However, most cases remain undiagnosed due to the insufficient predictive value of questionnaires and limited access to confirmatory video‐polysomnography. We assessed a two‐stage screening strategy combining a brief questionnaire on rapid‐

Schrodinger Equation for the Hydrogen Atom - A Simplified Treatment

open access: yesE-Journal of Chemistry, 2008
A simple method is presented here for solving the wave mechanical problem of the hydrogen atom. The normal method of converting the Cartesian coordinates into polar coordinates is tedious and also requires an understanding of the Legendre and Lagurre ...

HODGE IDEALS FOR $\mathbb{Q}$-DIVISORS, $V$-FILTRATION, AND MINIMAL EXPONENT

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2020
We compute the Hodge ideals of $\mathbb{Q}$-divisors in terms of the $V$-filtration induced by a local defining equation, inspired by a result of Saito in the reduced case. We deduce basic properties of Hodge ideals in this generality, and relate them to

T1 Over Squared Proton Density Ratio to Characterize Multiple Sclerosis Lesions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Differentiating remyelinated from demyelinated lesions in MS remains challenging without histological confirmation. This study introduces the T1‐to‐PD2 ratio (TPR) imaging approach and evaluates its ability to characterize MS lesions alongside other quantitative MRI (qMRI) metrics. Methods Thirty individuals with MS (mean age: 47.5 ±

Spectral analytical method of recognition of inexact repeats in character sequences

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
Proposed are theoretical basis and algorithmic implementation of spectral-analytical method of recognition of repeats in character sequences. The theoretical justification is based on the theorem on equivalent representation of the character sequence by ...

Biopsychosocial Determinants of Hand Function and Its Trajectories Over Five Years in Patients With Hand Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over five years in primary hand osteoarthritis (OA). Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods A total of 538 patients with both baseline and five‐year study visits were analyzed.

On the Minimal Polynomials and the Inverses of Multilevel Scaled Factor Circulant Matrices

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Circulant matrices have important applications in solving various differential equations. The level-k scaled factor circulant matrix over any field is introduced.

Obesity Subtypes and Longitudinal Trajectories of Function Over Seven Years of Follow‐Up: Data From the Multicenter Osteoarthritis Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Obesity, defined by body mass index (BMI) ≥30 kg/m2, is a risk factor for functional limitations in people with knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, function varies among such individuals. Our objective was to evaluate the implications of obesity subtypes on longitudinal patterns of physical functioning in people with or at risk for knee OA ...
