Resting state networks and consciousness.Alterations of multiple resting state network connectivity in physiological, pharmacological and pathological consciousness states.

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2012
In order to better understand the functional contribution of resting state activity to conscious cognition, we aimed to review increases and decreases in fMRI functional connectivity under physiological (sleep), pharmacological (anesthesia) and ...

Rotary 4D Printing of Programmable Metamaterials on Sustainable 4D Mandrel

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The paper introduces open, rotary 4D printing of programmable tubular metamaterials. It presents an open, non‐planar path‐to‐G‐code pipeline and shape‐changing rotary mandrel that enable support‐free fabrication and multi‐stimuli actuation. Experiments and FEA validate the mentioned features and stress redistribution.

Precision Diagnostics in Sports‐Related Traumatic Brain Injury: Pathophysiology, Biomarker Development and Emerging Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Sports‐related traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) remain underdiagnosed, within amateur athletic cohorts. This review critically synthesises recent advancements in AI‐assisted neuroimaging, blood‐based biomarker profiling, wearable biosensing platforms for early detection, injury stratification, and longitudinal surveillance of TBIs.

Innovative Fluorescent Probes to Track Lipid Droplets and Endoplasmic Reticulum Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Eco‐designed fluorescent probes enable selective imaging of lipid droplets and endoplasmic reticulum dynamics. Through green multicomponent synthesis, the probes exhibit high photostability and distinct subcellular localization. Their targeting selectivity arises from molecular geometry and microenvironmental adaptability, offering sustainable tools ...

Methodological Artefacts in Consciousness Science [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Consciousness is scientifically challenging to study because of its subjective aspect. This leads researchers to rely on report-based experimental paradigms in order to discover neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs).

Pupil constrictions to subjective brightness as a gateway to probe consciousness in non communicating patients

open access: yesScientific Reports
Retinal illumination primarily determines pupil size, yet extra-retinal factors like subjective brightness also influence pupillary responses. Previous works reported that in healthy individuals, stimuli whose semantic content evokes brightness cause ...

Characterization of responders to transcranial direct current stimulation in disorders of consciousness: A retrospective study of 8 clinical trials

open access: yesNeurotherapeutics
The treatment for patients with disorders of consciousness challenges researchers and clinicians. The stimulation of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex with transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) may enhance behavioral responsiveness of a ...
