Ascorbic Acid Modulates Collagen Properties in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteoporotic Bone: Insights into Chemical, Mechanical, and Biological Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Osteoporosis from long‐term glucocorticoid (GIOP) use elevates susceptibility to fracture. This study shows GCs impair ascorbic acid (AA) metabolism in osteoblasts, collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix integrity. AA enhanced collagen biochemical and mechanical properties and restored osteoblast and endothelial function. These findings underscore

Estimation of variance components from the measurement in a geodetic network [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2005
The precision of geodetic instruments used for precise measurements in geodetic networks is described by the dispersion σ2 or the standard deviation σ. Some of geodetic instruments, like electro optic range-finder and its accuracy are characteristized by

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Constrained Extended Kalman Filter for Target Tracking in Directional Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
The target tracking problem in directional sensor networks (DSNs) is attracting increasing attention. Unlike the traditional omnidirectional sensor, a directional sensor has a special angle of view. It can offer direction information rather than just the

Multipolar Resonances in Electro‐Optic Metasurfaces with Moderate Refractive Index

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Electro‐optic nanoantennas with moderate refractive indices of 2.3 to 3.0 are numerically shown to sustain strong multipolar resonances, enabling efficient light confinement and EO tuning. Multipolar modes of even parity are most sensitive to variations in the refractive index.
