Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Connection between uniformity and minimum moment aberration

open access: closedMetrika, 2008
The issue of uniformity in symmetrical fractional factorial designs is studied in this paper. The so-called discrete discrepancy is employed as a measure of uniformity. In this paper we give linkages between uniformity measured by the discrete discrepancy and minimum moment aberration, which provide a significant statistical justification of the ...

Uniform minimum moment aberration designs

open access: closedStatistics & Probability Letters, 2018
Abstract This paper discusses the issue of constructing uniform minimum moment aberration designs under discrepancies criteria. By considering all possible level permutations of factors, we establish a linear relationship between power moments and average discrepancy defined by a reproducing kernel for an asymmetrical or symmetrical design.

Minimum Lee-moment aberration and its applications

open access: closedSCIENTIA SINICA Mathematica, 2016
Various criteria have been proposed to compare and assess fractional factorial designs. Among them the minimum moment aberration criterion is conceptually simple and computationally cheap. However, the power moments in the minimum moment aberration criterion depend on the Hamming distances between two runs, which leads to minimum moment aberration ...

Optimal two-level regular designs under baseline parametrization via Cosets and minimum moment aberration

open access: closedStatistica Sinica, 2016
We consider two-level fractional factorial designs under a baseline parametrization that arises naturally when each factor has a control or baseline level. While the criterion of minimum aberration can be formulated as usual on the basis of the bias that

A study on average Lee discrepancy measure

Statistics (Berlin), 2023
In this paper, we proposed the average Lee discrepancy to measure the uniformity of designs and studied its connection with the standard optimality measures used in the context of design of experiments.

Optimization and Distance Function Proce-dures in Aberration Criteria of Efficient Frac-tional Factorial Design

, 2021
An efficient orthogonal array was constructed with near balance and near the orthogonal property for the lowest common multiples of runs, using the balance coefficient criteria for determining near balance and J2 optimality criteria for orthogonal ...

A Minimum Aberration Type Criterion for Selecting Space-Filling Designs

Biometrika, 2021
Space-filling designs are widely used in computer experiments. Inspired by the stratified orthogonality of strong orthogonal arrays, we propose a minimum aberration type criterion for assessing the space-filling properties of designs based on design ...

A UNIFIED FRAMEWORK FOR MINIMUM ABERRATION

, 2022
Minimum aberration has been ubiquitously adopted for selecting fractional factorial designs. Much work has been done on its various extensions, from which many fields of experimental design have benefited, including multistratum designs, multi-group ...

Minimum Aberration Designs for Two-Level Factorials in N =1 (Mod 4) Runs

, 2013
Two-level minimum aberration (MA) designs in N = 1 (mod 4) runs are studied. For this purpose, we consider designs obtained by adding any single run to a two-symbol orthogonal array (OA) of strength two and then, among these designs, sequentially ...
