Generalised minimum moment aberration for designs with both qualitative and quantitative factors

open access: closedStat
The minimum moment aberration and the minimum Lee‐moment aberration criteria are two popular conceptually simple and computationally cheap criteria for selecting good designs. However, the minimum moment aberration is suitable for qualitative factors, and the minimum Lee‐moment aberration cannot distinguish some designs with high‐level quantitative ...

Minimum moment aberration for nonregular designs and supersaturated designs

open access: closed, 2001
Nonregular designs are used widely in experiments due to their run size economy and flexibility. These designs include the Plackett-Burman designs and many other symmetrical and asymmetrical orthogonal arrays. Supersaturated designs have become increasingly popular in recent years because of the potential in saving run size and its technical novelty ...

Genotoxicity test of eight natural color additives in the Korean market

open access: yesGenes and Environment, 2022
Background Various natural color additives are preferred by many consumers over synthetic color additives because they are perceived to be safer. However, most do not have sufficient toxicity data for safety assurance.

Global optimality in minimum compliance topology optimization of frames and shells by moment-sum-of-squares hierarchy [PDF]

open access: yesStructural And Multidisciplinary Optimization, 2020
The design of minimum-compliance bending-resistant structures with continuous cross-section parameters is a challenging task because of its inherent non-convexity.

Selecting baseline designs using a minimum aberration criterion when some two-factor interactions are important

open access: yes, 2021
This article considers the problem of selecting two-level designs under the baseline parameterisation when some two-factor interactions are important.

J2 optimality and Multi-level Minimum Aberration Criteria in fractional factorial design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The desirable properties of fractional factorial design: Balance and orthogonal; was examined for near balance and near orthogonal using the balance coefficient and J2 optimality criteria respectively.

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...

Pulsed emission from a rotating off-centred magnetic dipole in vacuum

open access: yes, 2017
The topology of the electromagnetic field around neutron stars severely impacts pulsar physics. While most of the works assume a standard centred dipolar magnetic field model, recently some efforts have been made to explain how inclusion of higher ...

Construction of optimal multi-level supersaturated designs

open access: yes, 2006
A supersaturated design is a design whose run size is not large enough for estimating all the main effects. The goodness of multi-level supersaturated designs can be judged by the generalized minimum aberration criterion proposed by Xu and Wu [Ann ...
