Spatial variability of soil properties and soil erodibility in the Alqueva reservoir watershed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The aim of this work is to investigate how the spatial variability of soil properties and soil erodibility (K factor) were affected by the changes in land use allowed by irrigation with water from a reservoir in a semiarid area.

Targeting Peptostreptococcus anaerobius with an Iron‐Based Nanozyme Reverses Ferroptosis Resistance and Enhances Antitumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

Ανάλυση και βελτιστοποίηση της επίδοσης cloud εφαρμογών σε διαμοιραζόμενα περιβάλλοντα με προσαρμοστική ανάθεση πόρων [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Intensive tillage, high fertiliser inputs, and plastic mulch on the soil surface are widely used by vegetable growers. A field investigation was carried out to quantify the impact of alternate land management and fertiliser practices designed to improve ...

An Increasing Misalignment Between Crop Distribution and Environmental Resources Under Climate Change in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Climate change reshapes the spatial alignment between crop production and environmental resources. Using multi‐source data and a crop model, integrated climatic, water, and soil endowments for maize and wheat are quantified and compared with harvest distributions.

Der Einfluss von Minimalbodenbearbeitung, Zwischenfrüchten und Kompostdüngung auf pflanzenparasitäre Nematoden im Ökolandbau [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Plant parasitic nematodes (PPN) can be highly damaging towards plants managed organically. In particular, broad host range PPN (Pratylenchus spp., Meloidogyne spp.) increase under long crop rotations and high weed pressure.

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

Biochar and conservation tillage affect the agronomic performance and fatty acid composition of Nigella sativa L. under both irrigated and dryland conditions

open access: yesScientific Reports
Soils in arid and semi-arid regions like Iran have suffered greatly from low organic matter content and low water availability. Traditional tillage and the overuse of chemical fertilizers are accelerating the problems in the region.

Tillage Effects on Some Soil Physical Properties in a Semi- Arid Mediterranean Region of Turkey

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
Throughout the world, degradation of soil has become an environmental problem which limits the sustainability of agriculture and decreases soil productivity. The main reason of degradation is either over cultivation or the utilization of improper tillage

RELATIVE EFFICIENCY OF SEQUESTERING CARBON IN AGRICULTURAL SOILS THROUGH SECOND BEST MARKET-BASED INSTRUMENTS [PDF]

open access: yes
The total expected cost of sequestering carbon in agricultural soils is estimated under a possible EQIP program offering a per-acre subsidy to adopt conservation tillage and a carbon credit program where producers can sell their carbon credit in an ...

Influence of mouldboard ploughing and shallow tillage on soil physical properties and crop performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This study was conducted in spring 2011 in a long-term field experiment with the objective of assessing the effect of shallow tillage and mouldboard ploughing on some soil physical properties and crop performance.
