Drawable and forbidden minimum weight triangulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A graph is minimum weight drawable if it admits a straight-line drawing that is a minimum weight triangulation of the set of points representing the vertices of the graph. In this paper we consider the problem of characterizing those graphs that are minimum weight drawable.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Note on the Minimum Weight States in the su(2)-Algebraic Many-Fermion Model --- Extension of the Role of the Auxiliary su(2)-Algebra ---

open access: yes, 2011
The role of the auxiliary su(2)-algebra proposed by the present authors in the latest paper is extended. Its aim is to determine the minimum weight states completely.

Does Hydro and Osmo-Priming Improve Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) Seeds Germination and Seedlings Growth?

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2009
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of hydropriming and osmopriming on germination rate, percentage of, root shoot length and root shoot weight of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) seeds.

Multi-path Summation for Decoding 2D Topological Codes [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2018
Fault tolerance is a prerequisite for scalable quantum computing. Architectures based on 2D topological codes are effective for near-term implementations of fault tolerance.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Relaxation Bounds on the Minimum Pseudo-Weight of Linear Block Codes

open access: yes, 2005
Just as the Hamming weight spectrum of a linear block code sheds light on the performance of a maximum likelihood decoder, the pseudo-weight spectrum provides insight into the performance of a linear programming decoder.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The generalized STAR modeling with minimum spanning tree approach of spatial weight matrix

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
The weight matrix is one of the most important things in Generalized Space–Time Autoregressive (GSTAR) modeling. Commonly, the weight matrix is built based on the assumption or subjectivity of the researchers.
