PharmVar GeneFocus: CYP1A2—Clinical Impact, Genetic Variation, and Updated Nomenclature

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 2, Page 313-323, August 2026.
The Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar) provides nomenclature for the highly polymorphic human CYP1A2 gene. CYP1A2 plays a crucial role in the biotransformation of several commonly used drugs, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and methylxanthines.

Research on the Critical Mechanical Criterion for Stick‐Slip Instability of Mining‐Affected Normal Faults Based on the Rate‐and‐State Friction Law

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3935-3947, August 2026.
Mining disturbance tends to trigger fault stick‐slip instability and induce disasters. This paper establishes a mechanical model to propose a critical criterion, which is verified to be reliable via FLAC3D, providing a theoretical basis for early warning of fault slip disasters.

Active Tectonics of the Eastern and Southern Alps ‐ Crustal Response to Deep Processes? A Review

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Owing to the low N‐S convergence rates between Adria and Europe, crustal deformation rates in the Alps and its forelands are low. Active tectonics are, therefore, difficult to study, especially as non‐tectonic landscape forming processes can erase or modify the tectonic surface imprint. Large‐scale and dense seismological data recently offered

Research on the movement law of overlying strata and mine pressure behavior in fully mechanized top-coal caving mining under goaf

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
During the mining of the lower coal seam under goaf, strong ground pressure behavior and severe roadway deformation occur, affecting normal mining. This study integrated theoretical analysis, laboratory tests, numerical simulation, and field application ...

A Survey of Eyeless Pseudosinella Schäffer, 1897 (Collembola: Entomobryidae) From Brazil Reveals a New Cave‐Dwelling Species From Minas Gerais State

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Herein, a new species of Pseudosinella is described from Minas Gerais State, Brazil. This was possible after reanalysing six species similar to the new species: Pseudosinella alfanjeunguiculata Bellini, Cipola & Souza; Pseudosinella aphelabiata Bellini, Cipola & Souza; Pseudosinella diamantinensis Bellini, Cipola & Souza, 2020; Pseudosinella ...

Longevity and Reactivation of Intracontinental Walled Basins: Thermochronologic Evidence From Western Mongolia

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 38, Issue 4, July–August 2026.
Permian–Jurassic tectonism produced cooling ages preserved in Mesozoic strata of the Dzereg and Dariv basins. Thermal modeling indicates mid‐Cretaceous and late Cenozoic basin inversion and cooling synchronous with bounding‐range exhumation, supporting a long‐lived source‐to‐sink relationship and persistent inherited relief since the Jurassic ...

Study on overlying strata movement and fillable space of caving zone in fully mechanized mining face of Caojiatan Coal Mine

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
In the process of coal seam mining, how to achieve large-scale disposal of coal gangue has always been an important problem to be solved in the green and efficient development of the coal industry.

White‐nose syndrome suitability of Mexican Sierra Madre Oriental karst to sustain Pseudogymnoascus destructans fungus

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract White‐nose syndrome (WNS), caused by the emerging fungal pathogen Pseudogymnoascus destructans, has led to a steep decline in North American bat populations since the disease was first described in 2006. Although previously thought to only threaten bat populations in northern latitudes with prolonged hibernation in cool climates, recent ...

Systematic principles of surrounding rock control in longwall mining within thick coal seams

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2019
Effective surrounding rock control is a prerequisite for realizing safe mining in underground coal mines. In the past three decades, longwall top-coal caving mining (LTCC) and single pass large height longwall mining (SPLL) found expanded usage in ...

Rule-based expert system to assess caving output ratio in top coal caving.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Coal mining professionals in coal mining have recognized that the assessment of top coal release rate can not only improve the recovery rate of top coal, but also improve the quality of coal.
