Abstract This study focuses on the extraction of nickel ions from an aqueous solution using a green emulsion liquid membrane (GELM). Its primary objective is to choose between corn oil and sunflower oil as a solvent in GELM and compare their performance with a kerosene‐based emulsion liquid membrane (ELM).

Using the HClO4–H2O2 System for Efficient Platinum Leaching: Optimal Conditions and Kinetics
GA: The platinum leaching using HClO4 and H2O2 is studied. For each HClO4 concentration, an H2O2/HClO4 = 2.5 ratio optimizes the kinetics. The best operating conditions are ≈70 °C, [HClO4] 3 m, and [H2O2] 7.2 m. The leaching process is governed by diffusion in the boundary layer and chemical reaction. In this new extraction process, Cl2(g) is generated

The demand for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) is posing challenges in the management of end‐of‐life (EoL) systems and supply of critical raw materials (CRMs). Such challenges can be addressed by recycling EoL LIBs through sustainable processes, involving metallurgy to recover higher‐value metals like Co, Ni and Li.

The article demonstrates that brine was central for the supply of Ca and B to the studied saline lake. The ion transport occurred probably by thermal springs, while contributions from surface waters cannot be excluded. However, the saturation and syndepositional precipitation of Ca borates were initiated by an arid climate through evaporation, while ...
