Influence of Carbon Material Properties on Slag‐Foaming Dynamics in Electric Arc Furnaces: A Review

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This article examines how the properties of the carbon materials affect the slag foaming, emphasizing the need for strategies to improve the effectiveness of biochar, such as pelletizing or blending with coke. Biocoke appears as promising but underexplored option for enhancing slag foaming.

Influence of In‐Doping on the Structure and Electrochemical Performance of Compositionally Complex Garnet‐Type Solid Electrolytes

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
A modified solid‐state reaction of compositionally complex Li6.7La3Zr0.7Nb0.8Gd0.1In0.4O12 is used reaching the highest conductivity reported for garnet‐type electrolytes. The enhancement of the ionic conductivity correlates to the larger grain size after indium doping and increases charge carrier concentration.

Polyaniline as a dual flame retardant and electrostatic dissipative additive in polyethylene nanocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 339-355, March 2025.
Effecft of co‐doping polyaniline with phosphoric acid and phytic acid on the heat release rate of polyethylene. Abstract Polyolefins, such as polyethylene (PE), are highly flammable and electrically insulative, limiting their applicability. The study explored the flame‐retardancy and electrical conductivity of PE/polyaniline (PE/PANI) nanocomposites ...

FinTech Adoption and Corporate Greenwashing: A Technology Affordance Perspective

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Affordance theory suggests that technology offers certain opportunities or ‘affordances’ that can be exploited by users. In this context, we are exploring how FinTech adoption provides opportunities to address corporate greenwashing. Drawing on an affordance perspective, we assert that FinTech adoption effectively inhibits corporate ...

Environmental Engagement: An Effective Way in Mitigation of Firms' Litigation Risks in China

open access: yesAccounting &Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing incidence of environmental disasters has necessitated stricter government environmental legislation and heightened firms' environment‐related litigation risks. Firms with environmental engagements receive favourable treatment from the government as their efforts align with government environmental campaigns and comply with ...

Gender blindness in the ‘Next Generation European Union’ funds: Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation social economy as an exception to the rule

open access: yesAnnals of Public and Cooperative Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study provides empirical evidence that European Union (EU)‐funded economic recovery policies, in particular Next Generation EU (NGEU), reinforce rather than mitigate gender inequalities. By analysing Spain's Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTEs) through Input–Output Models, the research shows that ...

High tin or high lead: distinctive alloying practices of the pastoral Yuhuangmiao culture in Northeast China during the first millennium BCE

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract The Jundushan cemetery, located on the northern boundary of the present‐day Beijing, sits at a crucial nexus between the Yan and Taihang mountains linking northern and central China. This strategic location provides an interesting case for examining interactions between pastoralism and agriculture around the early half of the first millennium ...

Trajectories of adoption for silver and bloomery iron in China from the Spring and Autumn period (c. 770–476 BC)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract We examine the number of sites with silver objects in China over a period of 3500 years to suggest that technologies that stimulated the indigenous exploitation of silver‐bearing ores were innovated during the Spring and Autumn period (c. 770–476 BCE), and that increased centralisation and bureaucratisation from the Warring States period (475 ...

Determining the impact of elemental composition on the long‐term survival of vegetable‐tanned leather in archaeological environments

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract This research paper investigated whether elemental analysis can differentiate leather manufacturing from soil contamination and whether soil hydrology and elemental composition impact degradation of leather. Portable X‐ray fluorescence (pXRF) is a quick method for monitoring large‐scale changes and groupings of aggregate inorganic elemental ...

Anchoring in Takeovers Under Mandatory Bid Rule: Evidence From an Emerging Market

open access: yesEconomics of Transition and Institutional Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article documents the existence of an anchoring bias in the pricing and acceptance of takeover bids in a blockholder regime where the mandatory bid rule applies. Our analysis, performed on the Romanian market for corporate control, shows that the 52‐week high price of the target and the pricing of direct privatisations conducted by the ...
