Vulnerability Assessment of Mining Subsidence Hazards

Risk Analysis, 2009
Between 1996 and 1999, five mining subsidence events occurred in the iron‐ore field in Lorraine, France, and damaged several hundred buildings. Because of the thousand hectares of undermined areas, an assessment of the vulnerability of buildings and land is necessary for risk management.

Mine subsidence investigations over a longwall working and the prediction of subsidence parameters for Indian mines

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1973
Abstract The results of subsidence investigations over the workings of a longwall panel, above which two old workings are present, are described in this paper. These results provide a typical example of subsidence behaviour in Indian mines. The minimum area of extraction for the first subsidence to occur has been found to be considerably more than ...

Mining Subsidence Calculation System

2010 2nd International Conference on Information Engineering and Computer Science, 2010
Mining subsidence is a serious environmental problem in mining areas. Calculating out the ground movement which is caused by mining is very important for environment planning and protection. This paper analyses the research status of mining subsidence calculation technology and builds up a new system of it, Mining Subsidence Calculation System (MSCS ...

THE GRAVIMETRIC DETECTION OF MINING SUBSIDENCE*

Geophysical Prospecting, 1985
AbstractA series of gravity measurements were taken over a period of time (c. 150 days each) above two adjacent working coal faces. Precise levelling and gravity measurements were taken along the same profile before, during, and after seam extraction. The observed change in gravity agrees well with the levelling data.

Mining subsidence forms in the Luxembourg mining basin

2000
This geomorphological investigation focuses on the mining subsidence forms which have occurred in the Luxembourg mining basin since the middle of the 19th century and are particularly numerous and diverse. The mapping of the mining subsidence forms has shown that both their number and their type vary all over the mining basin.
