Mink

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice, 1987
This chapter presents the basic biology and husbandry of mink as they have been used in commercial production units. Clinical laboratory data are summarized. Veterinary care is divided into viral and bacterial diseases along with several noninfectious disease sections.

Feeding great lakes fish to mink: Effects on mink and accumulation and elimination of PCBS by mink

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1983
The effects of feeding Great Lakes fish or fish products (carp, sucker, perch scraps, whitefish racks, and alewife fishmeal) to mink were studied. Growth and furring of mink were normal for all species of fish tested. However, mink fed carp failed to reproduce, and the reproductive performance and/or kit survival in groups fed the perch, whitefish, and

Mink-mouse hybridomas that secrete mink immunoglobulin G

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1988
Optimum conditions were established to obtain mink-mouse interspecific hybridomas secreting mink IgG in fusions of mouse myelomas with mink immune spleen cells. Minks were immunized with allogeneic IgG, and the spleen cells were fused with three mouse myeloma lines P3-X63-Ag8.653, NSO and Sp2/0-Ag14.

Pathologic analysis of mink mortality in New England mink

Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1977
The underlying cause of death of a group of New England mink, which died in 1969 to 1970 was explored. PCB and chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticide levels were measured. Aroclor 1254 levels in these mink were elevated 73 fold over levels in healthy mink in 1974. DDT levels were elevated 5 times and DDE 3 times over those control animals.

Spontaneous amyloidosis in mink

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1971
Abstract In 68 mink from a pelt farm, 23 of which were less than 3 years old, only 2 revealed amyloid deposits; whereas, of 45 killed by their breeder at the age of 3 years or older, 16 positive cases occurred. Deposits affected the liver, spleen, kidney, heart, adrenal gland, tongue, stomach, intestine and pancreas: interstitial amyloid deposits in ...

Nutritional Anæmia in Mink

Nature, 1958
NUTRITIONAL anaemia in mink has been described by Kennedy1 and Whithair et al. 2. In recent experiments we observed that mink kits fed diets containing large amounts of raw coalfish (Gadus virens) developed anaemia and characteristic fur anomalies, especially light under-fur, in about 40 per cent of the animals.

The MinK-related peptides

Neuropharmacology, 2004
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels mediate rapid, selective diffusion of K+ ions through the plasma membrane, controlling cell excitability, secretion and signal transduction. KCNE genes encode a family of single transmembrane domain proteins called MinK-related peptides (MiRPs) that function as ancillary or beta subunits of Kv channels.

An Overview of the MINK Study

Climatic Change, 1993
Highlights of the previous papers in this series are reviewed. Methodology developed for the MINK study has improved the ability of impacts analysis to deal with questions of (1) spatial and temporal variability in climate change; (2) CO2-enrichment effects; (3) the reactions of complex enterprises (farms and forests) to climate change and their ...

An Epizootic of Brucellosis in Mink

Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1971
