Refinements of Generalized Hölder’s Inequalities

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
We present some new versions of generalized Hölder’s inequalities. The results are used to improve Minkowski’s inequality and a Beckenbach-type inequality.

On Gardner–Hartenstine’s inequality

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
In the paper, we give a new generalization of Gardner–Hartenstine inequality and establish its integral form. As applications, we combine an important inequality and give some broader improvements.

Minkowski’s inequality for the AB-fractional integral operator

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
Recently, AB-fractional calculus has been introduced by Atangana and Baleanu and attracted a large number of scientists in different scientific fields for the exploration of diverse topics.

On Improvements of Kantorovich Type Inequalities

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In the paper, we give some new improvements of the Kantorovich type inequalities by using Popoviciu’s, Hölder’s, Bellman’s and Minkowski’s inequalities.

Inhomogeneous minima of mixed signature lattices

open access: yes, 2016
We establish an explicit upper bound for the Euclidean minimum of a number field which depends, in a precise manner, only on its discriminant and the number of real and complex embeddings. Such bounds were shown to exist by Davenport and Swinnerton-Dyer.

Lattice-point enumerators of ellipsoids

open access: yes, 2012
Minkowski's second theorem on successive minima asserts that the volume of a 0-symmetric convex body K over the covolume of a lattice \Lambda can be bounded above by a quantity involving all the successive minima of K with respect to \Lambda.

Generalizations of Minkowski and Beckenbach–Dresher Inequalities and Functionals on Time Scales

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2020
We generalize integral forms of the Minkowski inequality and Beckenbach–Dresher inequality on time scales. Also, we investigate a converse of Minkowski’s inequality and several functionals arising from the Minkowski inequality and the Beckenbach–Dresher ...

Diamond-α Jensen's Inequality on Time Scales

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2008
The theory and applications of dynamic derivatives on time scales have recently received considerable attention. The primary purpose of this paper is to give basic properties of diamond-α derivatives which are a linear combination of delta and nabla ...

What is missing from Minkowski's "Raum und Zeit" lecture

open access: yes, 2008
This contribution tries to highlight the importance of Minkowski's ``Raum und Zeit'' lecture in a ``negative'' way, where {\it negative} is taken in the photographic sense of reversing lights and shades.

Endomorphism fields of abelian varieties

open access: yes, 2017
We give a sharp divisibility bound, in terms of g, for the degree of the field extension required to realize the endomorphisms of an abelian variety of dimension g over an arbitrary number field; this refines a result of Silverberg.
