Dynamic Minkowski sum of convex shapes [PDF]
Computing the Minkowski sums of rotating objects has always been done naively by re-computing every Minkowski sum from scratch. The correspondences between the Minkowski sums are typically completely ignored. We propose a method, called DYMSUM, that can efficiently update the Minkowski sums of rotating convex polyhedra.

Countable Basis for Free Electromagnetic Fields
ABSTRACT Polychromatic electromagnetic fields are expanded as integrals over monochromatic fields, such as plane waves, multipolar fields, or Bessel beams. However, monochromatic fields do not belong to the Hilbert space of free Maxwell fields, since their norms diverge.

Solving for Blameless and Optimal Control Under Prioritized Safety Constraints
Summary of the proposed method for solving for blameless and optimal control sequences. ABSTRACT In many safety‐critical optimal control problems, users may request multiple safety constraints that are jointly infeasible due to external factors such as subsystem failures, unexpected disturbances, or fuel limitations.

Computing the Minkowski sum of prisms [PDF]
Within this paper we compute the Minkowski sum of prisms ("Cephoids") in a finite-dimensional vector space. We provide a representation of a finite sum of prisms in terms of inequalities.convex analysis, Minkowski sum ...

Degenerations and mirror contractions of Calabi-Yau complete intersections via Batyrev-Borisov Mirror symmetry [PDF]
We show that the dual of the Cayley cone, associated to a Minkowski sum decomposition of a reflexive polytope, contains a reflexive polytope admitting a nef-partition.

Hybrid Motion Planning Using Minkowski Sums [PDF]
Probabilistic and deterministic planners are two major approximate-based frameworks for solving motion planning problems. Both approaches have their own advantages and disadvantages. In this work, we provide an investigation to the following question: Is there a planner that can take the advantages from both probabilistic and deterministic planners ...

ABSTRACT Safe and reliable mobility over different kinds of ground is important for planetary rovers on space missions. Since terrain changes might affect the mobility of the rover, energy consumption, and safety, detecting the type of ground in real‐time is vital.

Theory of radiation pressure on magneto–dielectric materials
We present a classical linear response theory for a magneto–dielectric material and determine the polariton dispersion relations. The electromagnetic field fluctuation spectra are obtained and polariton sum rules for their optical parameters are ...

On the sum of the Voronoi polytope of a lattice with a zonotope [PDF]
A parallelotope $P$ is a polytope that admits a facet-to-facet tiling of space by translation copies of $P$ along a lattice. The Voronoi cell $P_V(L)$ of a lattice $L$ is an example of a parallelotope.

Invertible Minkowski Sum of Polygons [PDF]
The paper gives a new formulation of the Minkowski sum of polygons. In the conventional Minkowski sum, the inverse operation is not well defined unless the polygons are restricted to be convex. In the proposed formulation, on the other hand, the set of polygons is extended to the set of "hyperpolygons" and the Minkowski sum forms a commutative group ...
