Impact of smoking in MINOCA patients

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation
AbstractBackgroundConsiderable research has been conducted in recent years on patients afflicted with myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary disease (MINOCA), focussing on its prognosis, prevalence and predisposing risk factors. Case of pheochromocytoma mimicking MINOCA

BMJ Case Reports, 2021
We present a 52-year-old woman who was admitted to the emergency department with a short history of palpitations, sweating and nausea. An electrocardiogram (ECG) that was performed suggested inferolateral ischaemia with a significant troponin rise. The patient underwent an invasive coronary angiogram that showed mild non-obstructive coronary disease ...

MINOCA: unravelling the enigma

Heart, 2019
Patients with acute chest pain and elevated troponin concentrations usually undergo invasive coronary angiography unless there are obvious non-coronary causes of this constellation. It thus became apparent that up to 10% of such patients do not have obstructive coronary artery disease. In women, this group may even be larger.

A rare complication of blood donation: MINOCA

The American Journal of Emergency Medicine
Blood donation is a life-saving process that involves the temporary loss of a specific blood volume. Although generally safe, it may lead to adverse reactions, particularly in first-time donors. Among these, severe outcomes like myocardial infarction (MI) are extremely rare.
