CMR reclassifies the majority of patients with suspected MINOCA and non MINOCA [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging, 2023
Abstract Aims In ∼5–15% of all cases of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) have unobstructed coronaries on angiography. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has proven useful to identify in most patients the underlying diagnosis associated with this presentation.

Contemporary Diagnosis and Management of Patients with MINOCA

open access: yesCurrent Cardiology Reports, 2023
Abstract Purpose of Review Myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is defined as acute myocardial infarction (MI) with angiographically no obstructive coronary artery disease or stenosis ≤ 50%. Case of pheochromocytoma mimicking MINOCA

BMJ Case Reports, 2021
We present a 52-year-old woman who was admitted to the emergency department with a short history of palpitations, sweating and nausea. An electrocardiogram (ECG) that was performed suggested inferolateral ischaemia with a significant troponin rise. The patient underwent an invasive coronary angiogram that showed mild non-obstructive coronary disease ...

MINOCA: unravelling the enigma

Heart, 2019

It thus became apparent that up to 10% of such patients do not have obstructive coronary artery disease. In women, this group may even be larger.

P36 A CHALLENGING CASE OF MINOCA

European Heart Journal Supplements, 2023
Abstract Myocardial infarction in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease (MINOCA) accounts for 5–6% of all myocardial infarctions. The causes that can lead to this diagnosis are many and not always clearly identifiable; in fact, despite optimal work–up, the cause of MINOCA remains undetermined in 8–25% of patients and ...
