Logarithmically small minors and topological minors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, 2014
Mader proved that for every integer $t$ there is a smallest real number $c(t)$ such that any graph with average degree at least $c(t)$ must contain a $K_t$-minor. Fiorini, Joret, Theis and Wood conjectured that any graph with $n$ vertices and average degree at least $c(t)+ε$ must contain a $K_t$-minor consisting of at most $C(ε,t)\log n$ vertices ...

THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS REGARDING THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE MINOR DEFENDANT [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Petrosani: Economics, 2023

Factors associated with functional disability in patients with acute stroke excluded from alteplase administration due to minor non-disabling neurological deficits

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
BackgroundAlthough the PRISMS study did not demonstrate the benefit of intravenous alteplase administration in patients with mild stroke within 3 h, about 30% of patients presenting with mild symptoms showed unfavorable functional outcomes.

Bipartite minors

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 2016
We introduce a notion of bipartite minors and prove a bipartite analog of Wagner's theorem: a bipartite graph is planar if and only if it does not contain $K_{3,3}$ as a bipartite minor. Similarly, we provide a forbidden minor characterization for outerplanar graphs and forests.

Toeplitz Minors

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 2002
Let \(T_{n-1} (f)\) denote the \(n\times n\) Toeplitz matrix generated by the Fourier coefficients of the function \(f\) on the unit circle \(\mathbf{T}\) and let \(D_{n-1} (f)=\det T_{n-1} (f)\). The well known strong Szegö limit theorem asserts that if \(\sigma (t)=\exp \left(\sum_{n=-\infty}^\infty c_nt^n\right)\) then \(D_{n-1}(\sigma)\sim \exp ...

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.
