Minor salivary gland secretion in the elderly
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2000Very little information exists on minor salivary gland output (MSGO) in health and disease. Plasmacytoid myoepithelioma of a minor salivary gland
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1985Plasmacytoid myoepitheliomas are rare salivary gland neoplasms that probably represent a variant of the pleomorphic adenoma. They appear to occur more frequently in the minor salivary glands of the mouth. The mean average age at time of diagnosis of intraoral lesions is 18.8 years.

Morphological features of the minor salivary glands
Archives of Oral Biology, 1999The minor salivary glands are important components of the oral cavity, present in most parts of the mouth, and their secretions directly bathe the tissues. Individual glands are usually in the submucosa between muscle fibres, and consist of groups of secretory endpieces made up of mucous acinar cells and serous or seromucous demilune cells.

Intraoral Cancer of the Minor Salivary Glands
Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1976Intraoral minor salivary gland carcinomas are relatively uncommon. The glands are concentrated in the mucosa of the mouth but occur over a wide area in the head and neck region. Little is known about the etiologic factors responsible for these tumors.

Syringomatous Adenocarcinoma of Minor Salivary Glands
Tumori Journal, 1990An intraoral adenocarcinoma showing syringomatous features is reported in a woman aged 71. The tumor, which appeared to arise in minor salivary glands, ulcerated the overlying epithelium. Histologically, it was composed of dilated ductal structures and, in deeper parts, of tumor nests, elongated cords and small ducts containing small lumina.
