ABSTRACT Background Dysphagia is a common side‐effect after radiotherapy in head and neck cancer patients. This randomized study aimed to evaluate the effect of the shaker head‐lift exercise (HLE) after 12 months with flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). Methods Patients were randomly assigned to the intervention (n = 30) or the control

Hyperemesis gravidarum and oral health: A scoping review
Abstract Background Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a severe form of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP), associated with dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, and systemic complications. Although recurrent vomiting, altered dietary patterns, and medication effects might plausibly affect oral health, this relationship has not been comprehensively ...

Abstract Objective Maternal obesity and excess gestational weight gain (GWG) are linked to adverse perinatal outcomes, potentially via disruption of the maternal–fetal stress axis. Placental HSD11B2 protects the fetus from excess glucocorticoids and may influence fetal programming during maternal metabolic stress.

Gene expression signatures from single‐cell transcriptomics predict Sjögren's syndrome
A machine learning‐based 12‐gene signature (SjS.Sig) was developed from scRNA‐seq data of PBMCs from Sjögren's syndrome patients. The model was validated using bulk RNA‐seq datasets and further confirmed through flow cytometry and qPCR analysis in an independent clinical cohort, demonstrating robust diagnostic potential.

Tumors of the Major and Minor Salivary Glands [PDF]
Surgery for salivary gland tumors requires technical skill, competence in head and neck anatomy, and a familiarity with a variety of tumors. Benign salivary tumors at all sites should be 100 percent curable, with a local recurrence rate of less than five percent; these local failures should be curable with further surgery.
