Trace and minor element variations and sulfur isotopes in crystalline and colloform ZnS: Incorporation mechanisms and implications for their genesis

open access: closedChemical Geology, 2011
Abstract Various models have been proposed to explain the formation mechanism of colloform sphalerite, but the origin is still under debate. In order to decipher influences on trace element incorporation and sulfur isotope composition, crystalline and colloform sphalerite from the carbonate-hosted Mississippi-Valley Type (MVT) deposit near Wiesloch ...

Sulfur isotope study of the Aberfeldy barite, zinc, lead deposit and minor sulfide mineralization in the Dalradian metamorphic terrain, Scotland

open access: closedEconomic Geology, 1983
At Aberfeldy the bulk of barite sulfur (delta 34 S = 27-36 per mil) was derived during periods of rapid surface and subsurface (?) mixing of hot ( approximately 200 degrees C?) brine with Vendian sea water, enriched in 34 S as a result of bacterial sulfate reduction within the enclosed Dalradian basin.

The electrochemistry of stable sulfur isotopes versus lithium

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America
Significance Elements of the third period and above usually show minor differences in physical properties among their stable isotopes. Here, we show that stable isotopes of the third-period elements, such as sulfur (34S and 32S), show notable differences
