Engineering Bilayer Tandem Catalysts on Si‐Based Photocathodes for High‐performance CO2 Reduction to Produce Methane

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A Cu/Ag‐Cu bilayer tandem catalyst is designed for a pyramid‐structured p‐Si photocathode, creating multiple and functionally distinct interfaces tailored to specific reaction steps and intermediate stabilization. This Cu/Ag‐Cu‐decorated p‐Si photocathode exhibits both high photocurrent and good selectivity for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to CH4.

Coupling Mineralogy, Textures, Stable and Radiogenic Isotopes in Identifying Ore-Forming Processes in Irish-Type Carbonate-Hosted Zn–Pb Deposits

open access: yesMinerals, 2019
Irish-type deposits comprise carbonate-hosted sphalerite- and galena-rich lenses concentrated near normal faults. We present new data from the Tara Deep resource and overlying mineralization, at Navan, and the Island Pod deposit and associated Main zone ...

Balanced Expression of the Diiron Oxygenase BioE Is Essential for Biotin Homeostasis in Elizabethkingia meningoseptica

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BioE is a new diiron oxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of long‐chain acyl groups into pimeloyl thioester, initiating biotin synthesis. The overexpression of EmBioE disrupts lipid metabolic homeostasis, requiring repressor BioL to maintain a balance between long‐chain fatty acids and biotin synthesis.

Volatile Chalcophile Elements in Native Sulfur from a Submarine Hydrothermal System at Kueishantao, Offshore NE Taiwan

open access: yesMinerals, 2019
We analyzed sulfur isotopes, trace elements and chalcophile elements (Se, Te, As, Sb, and Hg) in the native sulfur matrix from the Kueishantao hydrothermal system and conducted a systematic micro-analytical investigation.

Structure‐Guided Engineering of a Promiscuous O‐Methyltransferase for a SAM Regeneration Biocatalysis Platform of Methylated Pharmaceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A substrate promiscuous and regioselective O‐methyltransferase, SmOMT, is functionally and structurally characterized. A double mutant, SmOMTE152A/I306A, exhibited enhanced catalytic activity. By coupling this mutant with a mutant halide methyltransferase, AtHMTV140T, for SAM regeneration, a superior artificial fusion enzyme, AtHMTV140T‐L95‐SmOMTE152A ...

Box Models of Volatile Cycles over the Entire Phanerozoic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Three stand-alone geochemical box models have been developed to simulate globally coupled biogeochemical cycles. These models reflect the evolution of the participating biotic and abiotic constituents in marine and terrestrial environments, including the

Lewis Pair‐Engineered CuMnOx as Cold‐Adapted Multinanozyme for Cooperative Hydrolytic and Oxidative Degradation of Raw Corn Stalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Lewis pair site design strategy was established to construct Cu‐doped Mn‐based amorphous nanozymes, where Mn and oxygen vacancies generate cooperative acid‐base pairs. The resulting multinanozyme integrates glycosidase‐, oxidase‐, and cold‐adapted enzyme‐mimicking activities, enabling cooperative depolymerization of cellulose and hemicellulose ...

Syn-to post-orogenic mineralization in the Shuangkoushan Au–Ag–Pb deposit, North Qaidam: insights from H–O–S isotopes and U–Pb geochronology

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Shuangkoushan Au–Ag–Pb deposits, hosted within meta-basaltic rocks of the Tanjianshan Group in the North Qaidam Orogenic Belt, northwest China, present significant insights into syn-to post-orogenic mineralization processes.

Basal Plane Activation of SnS2 Thin‐Film by Fluorine Doping for Selective Solar‐Driven CO2 Reduction With Enhanced Quantum Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The synergistic effect of fluorine doping and sulfur vacancies boosts the activity of the active sites without active‐site modulation, leading to enhanced CO2 photoreduction efficiency and a selectivity switch from CH4 to CO on tin disulfide continuous thin films. ABSTRACT Photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into value‐added fuels offers a viable approach

Shell Model Study of the Neutron-Rich Nuclei around N=28 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We describe the properties of the neutron rich nuclei around N=28 in the shell mode framework. The valence space comprises the $sd$ shell for protons an the $pf$ shell for neutrons without any restriction.
