Intramolecular Down‐ and Up‐Conversion in Dimeric Tetracene Complexes Centered via Platinum(II) and Palladium(II)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐tetracene dimeric complexes are synthesized through the pyridyl coordination to either Pt(II) or Pd(II). Photophysical properties are systematically compared as a function of the metal using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. The Pt(II) dimer exhibits efficient intramolecular singlet fission and subsequent intramolecular up‐conversion ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Minority Stress and Physical Health Among Sexual Minorities

Perspectives on Psychological Science, 2013
Lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) individuals suffer serious mental health disparities relative to their heterosexual peers, and researchers have linked these disparities to difficult social experiences (e.g., antigay victimization) and internalized biases (e.g., internalized homophobia) that arouse stress.

Sexual Minority Health

2018
A number of studies have described lesbians in the United States as an underserved patient population. Among women in the United States, having a sexual orientation other than heterosexual is associated with increased rates of poor physical and mental health.

The Health Interview Survey and Minority Health

Medical Care, 1980
This article emphasizes the advantages and disadvantages of the National Center for Health Statistics Health Interview Surveys (HIS) when applied to the needs of ethnic minorities at the local level. While HIS gives information on health status of minorities and their use of services at the national level, this information is of limited help to ...

Minorities and mental health

Social Science & Medicine, 1993
It is argued that minority status, despite some recent evidence to the contrary, is a risk factor for mental ill-health. The evidence reviewed suggests that it is the experience at the local, rather than national, level that is critical. The effect appears to be due to the reduced exposure to prejudice and increased social support that a consonant ...

Training Minority Mental Health Professionals

Psychiatric Services, 1973
This article describes a pilot mental health program that provides psychotherapeutic services to community college students from minority and low-income families and trains minority mental health professionals. The authors detail development of the program, selection of staff and trainees, evolution of a supervisory system to promote learning and ...

Household Health Interviews and Minority Health

Medical Care, 1980
Efforts to identify information needs in the area of minority health have been paralleled by efforts within the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) both to improve the quantity and quality of minority health statistics and to increase the accessibility of these statistics to data users.
