Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a cause of pregnancy-associated heart failure. Usually develops during the last month, and up to 6 months after pregnancy in women without prior cardiovascular disease.The etiology and pathogenesis of PPCM is unknown, but several hypotheses have been proposed over the years.
